Dessa fynd f\u00e5r dem att undra om det finns molekyler som produceras i tarmarna hos andra djur, inklusive d\u00e4ggdjur, som f\u00f6rklarar n\u00e5gra av de h\u00e4lsoeffekter som \u00e4r f\u00f6rknippade med fasta.<\/p>\n<h2>Insulinmolekyl som produceras av tarmceller p\u00e5verkar fettmetabolismen via hj\u00e4rnan<\/h2>\n<p>Forskare har l\u00e4nge vetat att hj\u00e4rnan styr produktionen och nedbrytningen av fett hos m\u00e4nniskor, andra d\u00e4ggdjur och modellorganismer som <em>C. elegans<\/em>. \u00c5r 2017 identifierade Srinivasans grupp FLP-7, ett hj\u00e4rnhormon som stimulerar fettf\u00f6rbr\u00e4nningen i nematodens tarm. <em>C. elegans <\/em>har dock inga sensoriska nerver i <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chronobiology.com\/research-alert-meal-timing-lowers-blood-pressure-via-the-gut-microbiome\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">tarmen<\/a>, s\u00e5 forskarna k\u00e4mpade med att dechiffrera den omv\u00e4nda kommunikationsv\u00e4gen: Hur signalerar tarmen till hj\u00e4rnan? Hos m\u00e4nniskor \u00e4r insulin fr\u00e4mst k\u00e4nt som det hormon som produceras av bukspottk\u00f6rteln och som kontrollerar <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chronobiology.com\/insomnia-boosts-diabetes-risk-raises-blood-sugar-levels\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">blodsockerniv\u00e5n<\/a>. Men den h\u00e4r insulinmolekylen producerades ist\u00e4llet av tarmceller och hade ocks\u00e5 en effekt p\u00e5 fettmetabolismen via hj\u00e4rnan. N\u00e4r forskarna uppt\u00e4ckte att det r\u00f6rde sig om ett insulin tyckte de att det var en paradox.<br \/>\nInsulin \u00e4r s\u00e5 v\u00e4l studerat hos d\u00e4ggdjur och det fanns inget prejudikat f\u00f6r att en insulinmolekyl skulle spela den h\u00e4r rollen.<\/p>\n<p>Men n\u00e4r gruppen unders\u00f6kte hur INS-7 p\u00e5verkade de FLP-7-producerande hj\u00e4rncellerna fann de att det inte aktiverade insulinreceptorerna &#8211; som alla tidigare uppt\u00e4ckta insulinmolekyler &#8211; utan blockerade insulinreceptorn. Denna blockering satte i sin tur ig\u00e5ng en kaskad av andra molekyl\u00e4ra h\u00e4ndelser som s\u00e5 sm\u00e5ningom fick hj\u00e4rncellerna att sluta producera FLP-7. Enligt Srinivasan \u00e4r INS-7 i princip en signal fr\u00e5n tarmen som talar om f\u00f6r hj\u00e4rnan att den inte ska f\u00f6rbr\u00e4nna mer fett f\u00f6r tillf\u00e4llet eftersom det inte tillf\u00f6rs n\u00e5gon mat.<\/p>\n<h2>Signaler mellan tarm och hj\u00e4rna styr \u00e4mnesoms\u00e4ttningen<\/h2>\n<p>Studier har redan visat att <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chronobiology.com\/chrononutrition\/the-benefits-of-fasting\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">perioder av fasta<\/a> kan p\u00e5verka kroppen p\u00e5 olika s\u00e4tt, men mekanismerna bakom dessa f\u00f6r\u00e4ndringar har tidigare varit oklara. Den nya studien pekar p\u00e5 ett s\u00e4tt p\u00e5 vilket en tom tarm kan signalera till hj\u00e4rnan, vilket potentiellt kan leda till en rad h\u00e4lsoeffekter ut\u00f6ver fett. De nya r\u00f6nen, s\u00e4ger Srinivasan, bidrar till att f\u00f6rklara hur hj\u00e4rnan och matsm\u00e4ltningssystemet kommunicerar i b\u00e5da riktningarna f\u00f6r att styra \u00e4mnesoms\u00e4ttningen som svar p\u00e5 tillg\u00e5ngen p\u00e5 mat.
