Il gene del ritmo circadiano PER3 \u00e8 stato recentemente identificato come il collegamento tra sonno e umore.<\/p>\n<p>Uno dei sintomi pi\u00f9 evidenti di una notte insonne \u00e8 il<a href=\"https:\/\/www.chronobiology.com\/lack-of-sleep-negatively-affects-emotions\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> cambiamento di umore<\/a>. I bambini non sono gli unici a diventare eccessivamente emotivi quando non fanno il loro regolare sonnellino; anche l&#8217;adulto pi\u00f9 stabile scoprir\u00e0 di essere depresso, arrabbiato o semplicemente meno stabile emotivamente quando non dorme abbastanza. Inoltre, alcune malattie mentali, come il <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chronobiology.com\/bipolar-disorder-and-sleep-patterns-newly-discovered-connections\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">disturbo bipolare<\/a> e la schizofrenia, sono state collegate a disturbi del sonno. Questo gene \u00e8 espresso principalmente nel nucleo soprachiasmatico dell&#8217;ipotalamo, che \u00e8 il centro cerebrale associato al ritmo circadiano dei mammiferi. In un <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/gene\/8863\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">recente studio condotto su persone affette da disturbi dell&#8217;umore e del sonno<\/a>, questo gene \u00e8 risultato essere il legame comune. I ricercatori hanno quindi allevato topi con una mutazione genetica simile e hanno scoperto che questi topi mostravano segni di disturbi dell&#8217;umore come la depressione e il disturbo affettivo stagionale, oltre alle previste alterazioni del ritmo circadiano.<\/p>\n<p>Poich\u00e9 i topi erano altrimenti sani e geneticamente normali, PER3 sembra contribuire in modo significativo sia alla salute mentale sia ai cicli del sonno. I ricercatori ritengono che il mantenimento di un ritmo circadiano sano, difficile quando importanti geni di temporizzazione funzionano male, agisca come protezione contro i disturbi mentali. Quando questo gene non funziona, \u00e8 pi\u00f9 probabile che le persone siano emotivamente influenzate dai cambiamenti dell&#8217;ambiente.<\/p>\n<h2>La necessit\u00e0 di dormire \u00e8 nei geni<\/h2>\n<p>Attualmente non esiste un modo fattibile per correggere la maggior parte dei disturbi genetici.
