Selon une nouvelle \u00e9tude publi\u00e9e dans le <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jabfm.org\/content\/35\/4\/695\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Journal of the American Board of Family Medicine<\/a>, l&rsquo;utilisation de la m\u00e9latonine pour le traitement du COVID-19 peut contribuer \u00e0 am\u00e9liorer les sympt\u00f4mes, aidant ainsi les personnes atteintes de la maladie \u00e0 se sentir mieux plus rapidement. Cette enqu\u00eate est un outil d&rsquo;\u00e9valuation de l&rsquo;impact de la maladie, qui aide les chercheurs \u00e0 suivre la progression de la maladie chez les participants \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9tude. L&rsquo;\u00e9tude a \u00e9t\u00e9 con\u00e7ue comme un essai clinique \u00e0 trois bras, en double aveugle, en parall\u00e8le, randomis\u00e9 et <a href=\"https:\/\/www.medicinenet.com\/placebo-controlled\/definition.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">contr\u00f4l\u00e9 par placebo<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Pour l&rsquo;\u00e9tude clinique, les participants ont \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9partis en trois groupes. Un groupe a re\u00e7u 10 mg de m\u00e9latonine par voie orale chaque jour pendant 14 jours. Le deuxi\u00e8me groupe a pris 1000 mg de vitamine C par voie orale chaque jour pendant deux semaines et le troisi\u00e8me groupe a pris un placebo quotidien pendant la p\u00e9riode de deux semaines. Il est int\u00e9ressant de noter que les chercheurs ont constat\u00e9 que les sympt\u00f4mes du COVID-19 semblaient progresser \u00e0 la m\u00eame vitesse chez les participants qui prenaient de la vitamine C et chez ceux qui prenaient le placebo. L&rsquo;exp\u00e9rience a \u00e9t\u00e9 diff\u00e9rente pour ceux qui ont pris de la m\u00e9latonine.<\/p>\n<p>Selon les chercheurs, les sympt\u00f4mes du COVID-19 se sont am\u00e9lior\u00e9s plus rapidement chez les participants ayant re\u00e7u de la m\u00e9latonine, avec des diff\u00e9rences mesurables entre le troisi\u00e8me et le neuvi\u00e8me jour. Lorsque l&rsquo;on compare les mesures de la qualit\u00e9 de vie entre les trois groupes, les r\u00e9sultats sont les m\u00eames : meilleure pour le groupe m\u00e9latonine, les groupes vitamine C et placebo faisant \u00e9tat d&rsquo;une qualit\u00e9 de vie \u00e0 peu pr\u00e8s \u00e9quivalente. Les groupes vitamine C et placebo n&rsquo;ont pas rattrap\u00e9 le groupe m\u00e9latonine en termes d&rsquo;att\u00e9nuation des sympt\u00f4mes et de qualit\u00e9 de vie avant le 14e jour.<\/p>\n<p>Les chercheurs ont mis l&rsquo;accent sur les <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chronobiology.com\/new-insights-use-melatonin-antioxidant\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">fonctions et qualit\u00e9s sp\u00e9cifiques de la m\u00e9latonine<\/a> pour expliquer les r\u00e9sultats obtenus dans cette \u00e9tude. Citant une \u00e9tude ant\u00e9rieure r\u00e9alis\u00e9e \u00e0 T\u00e9h\u00e9ran (Iran) sur des patients hospitalis\u00e9s pour le COVID-19, ils ont not\u00e9 que les patients ayant re\u00e7u de la m\u00e9latonine \u00e9taient sortis plus rapidement de l&rsquo;h\u00f4pital et pr\u00e9sentaient des taux plus faibles de <a href=\"https:\/\/www.urmc.rochester.edu\/encyclopedia\/content.aspx?contenttypeid=167&amp;contentid=c_reactive_protein_serum\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">prot\u00e9ines C-r\u00e9actives<\/a>, un marqueur de l&rsquo;inflammation. La m\u00e9latonine a des <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nature.com\/articles\/s41419-019-1556-7#:~:text=More%20commonly%20known%20as%20the%20sleep%20hormone%2C%20melatonin%20also%20has,other%20crucial%20properties2%2C3.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">propri\u00e9t\u00e9s anti-inflammatoires et antioxydantes<\/a>. Selon les chercheurs, la m\u00e9latonine pourrait \u00e9galement contribuer \u00e0 r\u00e9duire les l\u00e9sions pulmonaires oxydatives.<\/p>\n<h2>Mais attendez&#8230; ce n&rsquo;est pas tout<\/h2>\n<p>Cette \u00e9tude n&rsquo;est pas la seule \u00e0 sugg\u00e9rer que la m\u00e9latonine peut \u00eatre un \u00e9l\u00e9ment pr\u00e9cieux du traitement de la maladie de COVID-19. Outre l&rsquo;\u00e9tude de T\u00e9h\u00e9ran cit\u00e9e par les chercheurs du Penn Medicine\/Lancaster General Health Research Institute, il en existe un certain nombre d&rsquo;autres. Une \u00e9tude r\u00e9alis\u00e9e en 2020 par la Cleveland Clinic et publi\u00e9e dans <a href=\"https:\/\/journals.plos.org\/plosbiology\/article?id=10.1371\/journal.pbio.3000970\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">PLOS Biology<\/a> a montr\u00e9 que la prise de m\u00e9latonine r\u00e9duisait le risque de contracter le COVID-19 de 28 % en g\u00e9n\u00e9ral et de 52 % pour les Afro-Am\u00e9ricains. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.10news.com\/news\/in-depth\/in-depth-melatonin-helps-people-with-severe-covid-recover-how-about-long-haulers\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Des \u00e9tudes men\u00e9es<\/a> en Irak et en Espagne ont \u00e9tabli un lien entre la m\u00e9latonine et de meilleurs r\u00e9sultats th\u00e9rapeutiques pour les patients atteints de COVID-19, notamment une r\u00e9duction des taux de caillots sanguins, de septic\u00e9mie et de d\u00e9c\u00e8s chez les patients souffrant d&rsquo;infections \u00e0 COVID-19 plus graves.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.chronobiology.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Horizontal-In-Text-Image-36-4.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-43506 alignright\" title=\"Horizontal In Text Image 36 4\" src=\"https:\/\/www.chronobiology.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Horizontal-In-Text-Image-36-4-300x206.jpg\" alt=\"Horizontal In Text Image 36 4\" width=\"300\" height=\"206\" srcset=\"https:\/\/dev.chronobiology.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Horizontal-In-Text-Image-36-4-300x206.jpg 300w, https:\/\/dev.chronobiology.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Horizontal-In-Text-Image-36-4-768x528.jpg 768w, https:\/\/dev.chronobiology.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Horizontal-In-Text-Image-36-4.jpg 800w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>Dans certaines \u00e9tudes, il a \u00e9t\u00e9 not\u00e9 que la <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tandfonline.com\/doi\/full\/10.1080\/08830185.2020.1756284\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">production de m\u00e9latonine diminue avec l&rsquo;\u00e2ge<\/a>. Cela a conduit certains chercheurs \u00e0 \u00e9mettre l&rsquo;hypoth\u00e8se que la diminution des niveaux de m\u00e9latonine chez les personnes \u00e2g\u00e9es pourrait \u00eatre un facteur expliquant que ce groupe soit statistiquement plus susceptible de pr\u00e9senter des sympt\u00f4mes plus graves li\u00e9s \u00e0 l&rsquo;infection par COVID-19. Cette diminution de la m\u00e9latonine signifie \u00e9galement que les personnes \u00e2g\u00e9es ne b\u00e9n\u00e9ficient pas autant des propri\u00e9t\u00e9s anti-inflammatoires et antioxydantes de la m\u00e9latonine, ainsi que du r\u00f4le que joue cette hormone dans le fonctionnement du syst\u00e8me immunitaire et la qualit\u00e9 du sommeil &#8211; autant d&rsquo;\u00e9l\u00e9ments qui influent sur la capacit\u00e9 de l&rsquo;organisme \u00e0 lutter contre le virus.<\/p>\n<h2>Prenez les d\u00e9cisions relatives au traitement avec votre fournisseur de soins de sant\u00e9<\/h2>\n<p>L&rsquo;utilisation de la m\u00e9latonine pour le traitement du COVID-19 et d&rsquo;autres virus est \u00e9tay\u00e9e par la science et la recherche clinique. Cependant, il est \u00e9galement important de parler \u00e0 votre fournisseur de soins de sant\u00e9 lorsque vous prenez des d\u00e9cisions de traitement pour ce qui peut \u00eatre un probl\u00e8me de sant\u00e9 grave.
