Elle combine une analyse observationnelle \u00e0 long terme et la technique de <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bmj.com\/content\/362\/bmj.k601#:~:text=Mendelian%20randomisation%20is%20a%20research,reverse%20causation%20than%20conventional%20observational\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">randomisation mend\u00e9lienne<\/a>, qui utilise les variantes g\u00e9n\u00e9tiques et les informations r\u00e9v\u00e9l\u00e9es par ces variantes dans le cadre des r\u00e9sultats globaux de l&rsquo;\u00e9tude, afin de mieux comprendre les possibilit\u00e9s et les probabilit\u00e9s de lien de causalit\u00e9. Cela permet d&rsquo;att\u00e9nuer certains des risques de causalit\u00e9 associ\u00e9s aux \u00e9tudes d&rsquo;observation et d&rsquo;offrir une analyse et une compr\u00e9hension plus pr\u00e9cises des r\u00e9sultats de l&rsquo;\u00e9tude.<\/p>\n<p>Cette \u00e9tude a port\u00e9 sur 358 451 personnes dont les ant\u00e9c\u00e9dents m\u00e9dicaux ne comportaient ni hypertension ni accident vasculaire c\u00e9r\u00e9bral entre 2006 et 2010, \u00e0 partir des donn\u00e9es de la <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ukbiobank.ac.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">UK Biobank<\/a>, ainsi que de leurs rapports de suivi qui, en moyenne, ont \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9pos\u00e9s environ 11 ans apr\u00e8s la p\u00e9riode initiale. \u00c0 partir de ces donn\u00e9es initiales et des rapports de suivi, qui incluaient les personnes ayant d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 une hypertension art\u00e9rielle ou un accident vasculaire c\u00e9r\u00e9bral, les chercheurs ont cherch\u00e9 \u00e0 d\u00e9terminer s&rsquo;il existait un lien entre la fr\u00e9quence des siestes pendant la journ\u00e9e et la probabilit\u00e9 d&rsquo;hypertension art\u00e9rielle ou d&rsquo;accident vasculaire c\u00e9r\u00e9bral.<\/p>\n<p>Apr\u00e8s avoir divis\u00e9 les sujets de l&rsquo;\u00e9tude en groupes en fonction de la fr\u00e9quence de leurs siestes, les chercheurs ont constat\u00e9 que ceux qui faisaient habituellement la sieste pendant la journ\u00e9e \u00e9taient 12 % plus susceptibles de d\u00e9velopper une hypertension art\u00e9rielle que ceux qui ne faisaient jamais la sieste. Le groupe qui faisait habituellement la sieste \u00e9tait \u00e9galement 24 % plus susceptible d&rsquo;\u00eatre victime d&rsquo;un accident vasculaire c\u00e9r\u00e9bral que les personnes qui ne faisaient pas la sieste.<\/p>\n<p>Chez les sujets \u00e2g\u00e9s de moins de 60 ans, les personnes faisant habituellement la sieste pr\u00e9sentaient un risque d&rsquo;hypertension art\u00e9rielle sup\u00e9rieur de 20 % \u00e0 celui des personnes ne faisant pas la sieste pendant la journ\u00e9e. Chez les sujets de plus de 60 ans, la sieste quotidienne entra\u00eenait un risque moindre d&rsquo;hypertension, puisqu&rsquo;elle augmentait ce risque de 10 %. De mani\u00e8re choquante, en utilisant la technique de randomisation mend\u00e9lienne, les chercheurs ont d\u00e9couvert que les personnes qui modifiaient leur rythme de sieste, par exemple en passant d&rsquo;une sieste permanente \u00e0 une sieste occasionnelle ou habituelle, pouvaient voir leur risque d&rsquo;hypertension augmenter de 40 %.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.msn.com\/en-us\/health\/medical\/people-who-nap-during-the-day-are-more-likely-to-develop-high-blood-pressure-and-stroke-study-finds\/ar-AAZZTyp?ocid=msedgntp&amp;cvid=737b34522adb44a29b0924cd0df1ea05\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Selon le<\/a> chercheur en sommeil Michael A. Wang de l&rsquo;h\u00f4pital Xiangya de la Central South University, sugg\u00e8re de limiter les siestes diurnes \u00e0 15 ou 30 minutes, si elles sont n\u00e9cessaires.
