Isol\u00e9e pour la premi\u00e8re fois en 1958, les chercheurs n&rsquo;ont pas fini d&rsquo;apprendre les diff\u00e9rentes fonctions de la m\u00e9latonine dans le corps humain.<\/p>\n<p>Ces derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es, de nombreuses personnes se sont familiaris\u00e9es avec cette hormone en raison de son r\u00f4le dans le <a href=\"https:\/\/www.psychiatrictimes.com\/view\/role-melatonin-circadian-rhythm-sleep-wake-cycle\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">cycle veille-sommeil, la sant\u00e9 du rythme circadien<\/a> et l&rsquo;utilisation de suppl\u00e9ments de m\u00e9latonine pour aider \u00e0 lutter contre <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mayoclinic.org\/drugs-supplements-melatonin\/art-20363071\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">certains probl\u00e8mes de sommeil<\/a>. Mais ce n&rsquo;est pas le seul r\u00f4le de la m\u00e9latonine. La m\u00e9latonine est \u00e9galement impliqu\u00e9e dans la <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chronobiology.com\/sleep-hormone-melatonin-supports-immune-system-health\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">r\u00e9gulation<\/a> et le fonctionnement du <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chronobiology.com\/sleep-hormone-melatonin-supports-immune-system-health\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">syst\u00e8me immunitaire<\/a>. Elle poss\u00e8de des propri\u00e9t\u00e9s antioxydantes et joue un r\u00f4le important dans la r\u00e9gulation de processus m\u00e9taboliques essentiels, notamment l&rsquo;\u00e9quilibre du glucose et de l&rsquo;insuline.<\/p>\n<h2>Les chercheurs affirment que la m\u00e9latonine influe sur le taux de mortalit\u00e9 du COVID-19<\/h2>\n<p>Selon <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencedirect.com\/science\/article\/pii\/S1201971221007980\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">une \u00e9tude<\/a> men\u00e9e \u00e0 l&rsquo;h\u00f4pital Al-Shifaa de Mossoul, en Irak, et publi\u00e9e dans l&rsquo;<em>International Journal of Infectious Diseases<\/em>, les patients atteints d&rsquo;une forme grave de COVID-19 qui ont re\u00e7u des suppl\u00e9ments de m\u00e9latonine \u00e9taient moins susceptibles de d\u00e9velopper des complications telles que la septic\u00e9mie ou la thrombose et risquaient moins de mourir. L&rsquo;\u00e9tude s&rsquo;est d\u00e9roul\u00e9e entre le 1er d\u00e9cembre 2020 et le 1er juin 2021 et 158 patients y ont particip\u00e9. Les participants ont \u00e9t\u00e9 divis\u00e9s en deux groupes.<\/p>\n<p>Le groupe de contr\u00f4le \u00e9tait compos\u00e9 de 76 patients atteints de COVID-19 s\u00e9v\u00e8re. Ces patients ont re\u00e7u des soins m\u00e9dicaux standard chaque jour. Les 82 patients restants ont re\u00e7u les m\u00eames soins m\u00e9dicaux quotidiens plus 10 mg de m\u00e9latonine. Les jours 5, 11 et 17, les taux de mortalit\u00e9, de thrombose et de septic\u00e9mie ont \u00e9t\u00e9 compar\u00e9s dans les deux groupes.<\/p>\n<p>Le groupe de contr\u00f4le s&rsquo;en est moins bien sorti que le groupe recevant le suppl\u00e9ment de m\u00e9latonine, avec des taux de mortalit\u00e9 plus \u00e9lev\u00e9s, ainsi qu&rsquo;un plus grand nombre d&rsquo;incidents de septic\u00e9mie et de thrombose. Par <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/mkt_breakingnews\/melatonin-affects-thrombosis-sepsis-and-covid-mortality-rate_4105459.html?utm_source=News&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_campaign=breaking-2021-12-06-4&amp;mktids=92053afd0e525ad2cb0c2b4b29a3a0d1&amp;est=ZwsTZDGGMwQR1eV9lmbN2pxPmzy7yCR7CpMcf6OZoLPbDzZZALsyvHa9sCCWkXBs7K3O\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">exemple<\/a>, au 11e jour, huit personnes du groupe de contr\u00f4le ont souffert de septic\u00e9mie, contre seulement deux dans le groupe recevant de la m\u00e9latonine. \u00c0 la fin de l&rsquo;\u00e9tude, le taux de mortalit\u00e9 du groupe t\u00e9moin \u00e9tait de 17,1 %, contre 1,2 % pour le groupe m\u00e9latonine.<\/p>\n<h2>Une autre \u00e9tude associe la m\u00e9latonine \u00e0 de meilleurs r\u00e9sultats dans le cadre de l&rsquo;\u00e9tude COVID-19<\/h2>\n<p>L&rsquo;\u00e9tude de l&rsquo;h\u00f4pital Al-Shifaa n&rsquo;est pas la premi\u00e8re \u00e0 \u00e9tablir un lien entre les suppl\u00e9ments de m\u00e9latonine et l&rsquo;am\u00e9lioration des r\u00e9sultats de l&rsquo;\u00e9tude COVID-19. <a href=\"https:\/\/journals.plos.org\/plosbiology\/article?id=10.1371\/journal.pbio.3000970\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Une \u00e9tude<\/a> publi\u00e9e en novembre 2020 dans <em>PLOS Biology<\/em>, une revue de sciences biologiques \u00e9valu\u00e9e par des pairs, a \u00e9galement \u00e9tabli un lien. <a href=\"https:\/\/health.clevelandclinic.org\/can-melatonin-help-treat-covid-19\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Cette \u00e9tude<\/a>, beaucoup plus vaste et utilisant plusieurs ensembles de donn\u00e9es, a r\u00e9v\u00e9l\u00e9 que les personnes utilisant r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement de la m\u00e9latonine avaient 28 % moins de risques d&rsquo;\u00eatre test\u00e9es positives au COVID-19. Si l&rsquo;on s&rsquo;int\u00e9resse plus particuli\u00e8rement aux Afro-Am\u00e9ricains, la probabilit\u00e9 d&rsquo;\u00eatre test\u00e9 positif au COVID-19 est r\u00e9duite de 52 %. La m\u00e9latonine semble jouer un r\u00f4le dans la r\u00e9gulation des processus inflammatoires, une pr\u00e9occupation importante compte tenu du risque de <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chronobiology.com\/covid-19-research-reveals-melatonin-inhibits-cytokine-storm\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">temp\u00eate de cytokines<\/a> associ\u00e9 au COVID-19, ainsi que dans la sant\u00e9 et le fonctionnement des cellules.<\/p>\n<p>Selon les chercheurs, la m\u00e9latonine pourrait \u00eatre utile \u00e0 la fois comme moyen de pr\u00e9vention et comme traitement. Ils soulignent l&rsquo;importance de poursuivre les recherches pour confirmer leurs conclusions et pour mieux comprendre les m\u00e9canismes sp\u00e9cifiques liant la suppl\u00e9mentation en m\u00e9latonine \u00e0 de meilleurs r\u00e9sultats dans le cas de COVID-19. Cependant, comme le Dr Feixiong Cheng, chercheur principal, a pris soin de le souligner, cela ne signifie pas que tout le monde devrait commencer \u00e0 prendre des suppl\u00e9ments de m\u00e9latonine sans en parler d&rsquo;abord \u00e0 son fournisseur de soins de sant\u00e9.<\/p>\n<h2>Les suppl\u00e9ments de m\u00e9latonine doivent \u00eatre utilis\u00e9s correctement<\/h2>\n<p>La m\u00e9latonine est une hormone puissante qui remplit des fonctions importantes et essentielles dans l&rsquo;organisme. Il n&rsquo;est donc pas judicieux de prendre des suppl\u00e9ments de m\u00e9latonine \u00e0 tort et \u00e0 travers. Prendre de la m\u00e9latonine au mauvais moment de la journ\u00e9e peut perturber le rythme et la qualit\u00e9 du sommeil, et donc le sommeil profond r\u00e9parateur si important pour le fonctionnement du syst\u00e8me immunitaire, la gu\u00e9rison et la croissance physique.
