Le rythme circadien est le cycle d&rsquo;environ 24 heures de lumi\u00e8re et d&rsquo;obscurit\u00e9 auquel toute vie sur Terre a \u00e9volu\u00e9. Ce rythme est un \u00e9l\u00e9ment fondamental de notre \u00eatre, qui r\u00e9gule d&rsquo;innombrables processus dans l&rsquo;organisme, jusqu&rsquo;aux actions des cellules individuelles.<\/p>\n<p>Le <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chronobiology.com\/top-10-circadian-rhythm-facts\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">rythme circadien et le cycle veille-sommeil<\/a> sont intimement li\u00e9s. Les perturbations du cycle veille-sommeil peuvent entra\u00eener une mauvaise qualit\u00e9 du sommeil et des perturbations du rythme circadien. C&rsquo;est loin des 500 lux que l&rsquo;on trouve \u00e0 l&rsquo;int\u00e9rieur d&rsquo;un bureau moyen. Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 son impact sur le rythme circadien, la lumi\u00e8re du jour contribue \u00e0 influencer le moment de la production d&rsquo;hormones, comme le moment de la production de <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chronobiology.com\/melatonin-benefits-go-beyond-sleep-and-circadian-rhythm-regulation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">m\u00e9latonine<\/a> apr\u00e8s la tomb\u00e9e de la nuit, une hormone qui joue un r\u00f4le majeur dans le moment et la qualit\u00e9 du sommeil. L&rsquo;exposition \u00e0 la lumi\u00e8re du jour, par opposition \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9clairage int\u00e9rieur beaucoup plus faible, favorise un meilleur alignement du rythme circadien, ce qui se traduit par une meilleure synchronisation du sommeil et une meilleure qualit\u00e9 potentielle du sommeil.<\/p>\n<h2>La lumi\u00e8re du soleil affecte les performances cognitives et la sant\u00e9 mentale<\/h2>\n<p>Selon les r\u00e9sultats d&rsquo;une <a href=\"https:\/\/www.frontiersin.org\/articles\/10.3389\/frsc.2021.690055\/full\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">nouvelle \u00e9tude<\/a>, publi\u00e9e dans l&rsquo;<em>International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health<\/em>, l&rsquo;exposition \u00e0 la lumi\u00e8re du soleil \u00e0 travers les fen\u00eatres peut avoir un impact positif sur le sommeil et contribuer \u00e0 am\u00e9liorer les performances cognitives et la sant\u00e9 mentale. L&rsquo;\u00e9tude a \u00e9t\u00e9 men\u00e9e dans un environnement de travail de bureau aupr\u00e8s de 30 participants. Ces participants ont pass\u00e9 cinq jours dans un bureau dont les fen\u00eatres \u00e9taient orient\u00e9es vers l&rsquo;ouest et partiellement recouvertes de stores standard.<\/p>\n<p>Le groupe a \u00e9galement pass\u00e9 cinq jours dans un bureau exactement identique \u00e0 l&rsquo;autre, \u00e0 l&rsquo;exception des fen\u00eatres. Au lieu de stores, les fen\u00eatres \u00e9taient \u00e9quip\u00e9es de <a href=\"https:\/\/www.energy.gov\/eere\/amo\/electrochromic-windows-advanced-processing-technology\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">verre \u00e9lectrochrome<\/a>. Ce type de verre est con\u00e7u pour produire ce que l&rsquo;Office de l&rsquo;efficacit\u00e9 \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique et des \u00e9nergies renouvelables du minist\u00e8re am\u00e9ricain de l&rsquo;\u00e9nergie d\u00e9crit comme une teinte variable. Cette teinte, qui change tout au long de la journ\u00e9e en fonction des besoins, r\u00e9duit l&rsquo;\u00e9blouissement et le gain de chaleur sans emp\u00eacher la lumi\u00e8re du soleil de p\u00e9n\u00e9trer, comme le font les stores et autres barri\u00e8res.<\/p>\n<p>Les chercheurs ont constat\u00e9 que lorsque les participants \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9tude se trouvaient dans le bureau \u00e9quip\u00e9 de <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mdpi.com\/1660-4601\/18\/19\/9980\/htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">verre \u00e9lectrochrome<\/a>, qui permettait une plus grande exposition \u00e0 la lumi\u00e8re du jour que les fen\u00eatres ombrag\u00e9es de l&rsquo;autre bureau, ils ressentaient une s\u00e9rie d&rsquo;avantages. Les participants avaient 77 % moins de chances de se sentir d\u00e9prim\u00e9s. Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 une plus grande exposition \u00e0 la lumi\u00e8re du jour, ils avaient des niveaux de concentration plus \u00e9lev\u00e9s, des niveaux de stress plus faibles et une diminution de la fatigue oculaire. Selon les chercheurs, la r\u00e9duction de la fatigue oculaire \u00e9tait \u00e9galement li\u00e9e \u00e0 la meilleure vue dont ils b\u00e9n\u00e9ficiaient, ce qui leur permettait de se reposer p\u00e9riodiquement les yeux lorsqu&rsquo;ils regardaient de loin tout au long de la journ\u00e9e.<\/p>\n<h2>Confirm\u00e9 : La lumi\u00e8re du jour \u00e0 l&rsquo;int\u00e9rieur am\u00e9liore le sommeil<\/h2>\n<p>Dans <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reminetwork.com\/articles\/study-window-conditions-mental-health\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">une autre \u00e9tude<\/a> utilisant le verre \u00e9lectrochrome, les chercheurs ont obtenu des r\u00e9sultats positifs similaires. R\u00e9alis\u00e9e par le Light and Health Research Center de l&rsquo;Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, cette \u00e9tude s&rsquo;est concentr\u00e9e sur les personnes \u00e0 la maison plut\u00f4t qu&rsquo;au travail. Les personnes b\u00e9n\u00e9ficiant d&rsquo;une plus grande exposition \u00e0 la lumi\u00e8re du jour ont connu une meilleure qualit\u00e9 de sommeil, ont eu plus d&rsquo;\u00e9nergie pendant la journ\u00e9e et ont d\u00e9clar\u00e9 11 % d&rsquo;anxi\u00e9t\u00e9 en moins et 9 % de stress en moins. Il est int\u00e9ressant de noter que cette \u00e9tude a \u00e9galement mis en \u00e9vidence les avantages d&rsquo;une bonne vue.<\/p>\n<p>Ces r\u00e9sultats confirment les avantages not\u00e9s dans une \u00e9tude r\u00e9alis\u00e9e en 2020, qui montrait que les employ\u00e9s de bureau b\u00e9n\u00e9ficiant d&rsquo;une plus grande exposition \u00e0 la lumi\u00e8re du soleil gr\u00e2ce au verre \u00e9lectrochrome obtenaient des r\u00e9sultats d&rsquo;\u00e9valuation cognitive sup\u00e9rieurs de 42 % \u00e0 ceux des employ\u00e9s travaillant dans des bureaux classiques. Les travailleurs b\u00e9n\u00e9ficiant d&rsquo;une plus grande exposition \u00e0 la lumi\u00e8re du soleil ont \u00e9galement b\u00e9n\u00e9fici\u00e9 d&rsquo;une meilleure qualit\u00e9 de sommeil.<\/p>\n<h2>Tirer parti des fen\u00eatres pour une meilleure sant\u00e9<\/h2>\n<p>M\u00eame si vous \u00eates enferm\u00e9 \u00e0 l&rsquo;int\u00e9rieur la majeure partie de la journ\u00e9e, vous pouvez toujours tirer parti des avantages li\u00e9s \u00e0 la compr\u00e9hension de la fa\u00e7on dont la lumi\u00e8re du jour am\u00e9liore le sommeil, les fonctions cognitives et la sant\u00e9 en g\u00e9n\u00e9ral.
