Une nouvelle \u00e9tude \u00e9tablit un lien entre la qualit\u00e9 du sommeil et les d\u00e9lais de r\u00e9cup\u00e9ration COVID-19 des patients hospitalis\u00e9s. En bref, une meilleure qualit\u00e9 de sommeil est li\u00e9e \u00e0 une sortie plus rapide de l&rsquo;h\u00f4pital.<\/p>\n<h2>\u00c9tablir le lien entre la qualit\u00e9 du sommeil et la r\u00e9cup\u00e9ration du COVID-19<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.chronobiology.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Horizontal-In-Text-Image-19-3.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-35591 alignright\" title=\"Horizontal In Text Image 19 3\" src=\"https:\/\/www.chronobiology.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Horizontal-In-Text-Image-19-3-300x206.jpg\" alt=\"Horizontal In Text Image 19 3\" width=\"300\" height=\"206\" srcset=\"https:\/\/dev.chronobiology.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Horizontal-In-Text-Image-19-3-300x206.jpg 300w, https:\/\/dev.chronobiology.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Horizontal-In-Text-Image-19-3-768x528.jpg 768w, https:\/\/dev.chronobiology.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Horizontal-In-Text-Image-19-3.jpg 800w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>Dans une <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pmc\/articles\/PMC7842153\/\">\u00e9tude r\u00e9cente<\/a>, des chercheurs de l&rsquo;h\u00f4pital d&rsquo;\u00c9tat Beylikduzu d&rsquo;Istanbul, en Turquie, qui examinaient des patients hospitalis\u00e9s pour le COVID-19, ont constat\u00e9 un lien significatif entre la qualit\u00e9 du sommeil, le degr\u00e9 d&rsquo;anxi\u00e9t\u00e9 ou de d\u00e9pression du patient li\u00e9 \u00e0 son hospitalisation pour le virus et les d\u00e9lais de gu\u00e9rison du COVID-19. Les patients dont la qualit\u00e9 du sommeil \u00e9tait inf\u00e9rieure \u00e9taient plus susceptibles de pr\u00e9senter des <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chronobiology.com\/sleep-and-mental-health-whats-the-connection\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">degr\u00e9s d&rsquo;anxi\u00e9t\u00e9 ou de d\u00e9pression plus \u00e9lev\u00e9s<\/a> et de passer plus de temps \u00e0 l&rsquo;h\u00f4pital.<\/p>\n<p>Cette \u00e9tude a port\u00e9 sur 189 personnes. Le groupe comprenait 111 hommes et 78 femmes, tous hospitalis\u00e9s en raison du COVID-19 en 2020 au cours des mois d&rsquo;avril et de mai. La qualit\u00e9 du sommeil des participants \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9tude a \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9valu\u00e9e \u00e0 l&rsquo;aide de l&rsquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sleep.pitt.edu\/instruments\/\">indice de qualit\u00e9 du sommeil de Pittsburgh (PSQI)<\/a>. L&rsquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/academic.oup.com\/occmed\/article\/64\/5\/393\/1436876\">\u00e9chelle Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS)<\/a> a \u00e9t\u00e9 utilis\u00e9e pour obtenir les scores d&rsquo;anxi\u00e9t\u00e9 et de d\u00e9pression li\u00e9s \u00e0 l&rsquo;h\u00f4pital pour chaque participant. Il s&rsquo;agissait d&rsquo;un facteur important \u00e0 mesurer car, avec le diagnostic COVID-19 et les pr\u00e9cautions plus restrictives associ\u00e9es \u00e0 la maladie, les patients hospitalis\u00e9s sont susceptibles d&rsquo;\u00e9prouver un degr\u00e9 d&rsquo;inqui\u00e9tude plus \u00e9lev\u00e9 concernant leur diagnostic et leur s\u00e9jour \u00e0 l&rsquo;h\u00f4pital.<\/p>\n<p>Selon les r\u00e9sultats de l&rsquo;\u00e9tude, les patients participant \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9tude COVID-19 et dont la qualit\u00e9 du sommeil \u00e9tait m\u00e9diocre \u00e9taient plus susceptibles de souffrir de d\u00e9pression pendant leur s\u00e9jour \u00e0 l&rsquo;h\u00f4pital. En outre, cette mauvaise qualit\u00e9 de sommeil \u00e9tait \u00e9galement associ\u00e9e \u00e0 un s\u00e9jour plus long \u00e0 l&rsquo;h\u00f4pital. \u00c0 partir des donn\u00e9es recueillies dans le cadre de l&rsquo;\u00e9tude, les chercheurs ont \u00e9mis l&rsquo;hypoth\u00e8se qu&rsquo;une meilleure qualit\u00e9 de sommeil pourrait contribuer \u00e0 r\u00e9duire non seulement la dur\u00e9e d&rsquo;hospitalisation des patients, mais aussi le temps pass\u00e9 dans les unit\u00e9s de soins intensifs d&rsquo;un h\u00f4pital.<\/p>\n<h2>La qualit\u00e9 du sommeil a un impact sur la sant\u00e9<\/h2>\n<p>Pendant le sommeil, il se passe beaucoup de choses dans le corps et l&rsquo;esprit pour favoriser la sant\u00e9. Les <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ninds.nih.gov\/Disorders\/Patient-Caregiver-Education\/Understanding-Sleep#:~:text=Sleep%20is%20important%20to%20a,up%20while%20you%20are%20awake.\">toxines<\/a> accumul\u00e9es au cours de la journ\u00e9e <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ninds.nih.gov\/Disorders\/Patient-Caregiver-Education\/Understanding-Sleep#:~:text=Sleep%20is%20important%20to%20a,up%20while%20you%20are%20awake.\">sont \u00e9limin\u00e9es du cerveau<\/a> pendant le sommeil. La r\u00e9paration, la cicatrisation et la croissance des tissus font partie des nombreuses activit\u00e9s essentielles qui se d\u00e9roulent dans tout le corps pendant le sommeil, ainsi que le r\u00e9\u00e9quilibrage du syst\u00e8me m\u00e9tabolique.<\/p>\n<p>Un sommeil de mauvaise qualit\u00e9 peut se manifester par un manque de sommeil, un sommeil perturb\u00e9, le type de sommeil d\u00e9sordonn\u00e9 associ\u00e9 au travail post\u00e9 et des troubles du sommeil plus graves, tels que l&rsquo;insomnie et la narcolepsie. Il a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9montr\u00e9 que la qualit\u00e9 du sommeil a un impact sur la sant\u00e9 de <a href=\"http:\/\/healthysleep.med.harvard.edu\/need-sleep\/whats-in-it-for-you\/health\">diverses mani\u00e8res<\/a>. Les performances cognitives, y compris la m\u00e9moire et l&rsquo;apprentissage, sont directement influenc\u00e9es par la qualit\u00e9 du sommeil. Un sommeil de mauvaise qualit\u00e9 augmente le risque de d\u00e9pression &#8211; \u00e9galement associ\u00e9e \u00e0 une <a href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/12377296\/\">perturbation du syst\u00e8me immunitaire<\/a> &#8211; et d&rsquo;autres troubles de l&rsquo;humeur.<\/p>\n<p>La qualit\u00e9 du sommeil a \u00e9galement un impact sur le <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nigms.nih.gov\/education\/fact-sheets\/Pages\/circadian-rhythms.aspx\">rythme circadien<\/a> et les innombrables horloges corporelles pr\u00e9sentes dans tout l&rsquo;organisme, jusqu&rsquo;au niveau cellulaire. Ces horloges soutiennent la sant\u00e9 de nombreuses fa\u00e7ons, notamment en r\u00e9gulant et en programmant les r\u00e9actions chimiques impliqu\u00e9es dans presque tous les processus de l&rsquo;organisme, de l&rsquo;extraction des nutriments de la nourriture \u00e0 l&rsquo;utilisation de l&rsquo;\u00e9nergie pour les fonctions corporelles, en passant par la production d&rsquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.chronobiology.com\/covid-19-research-reveals-melatonin-inhibits-cytokine-storm\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">hormones essentielles, dont la m\u00e9latonine<\/a>. Bien connue pour son importance dans le cycle veille-sommeil, la m\u00e9latonine joue \u00e9galement un r\u00f4le vital dans le <a href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/24654916\/\">fonctionnement du syst\u00e8me m\u00e9tabolique<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>En raison du r\u00f4le du sommeil dans le maintien de l&rsquo;\u00e9quilibre d\u00e9licat de l&rsquo;organisme qui favorise une bonne sant\u00e9, un sommeil de mauvaise qualit\u00e9 est associ\u00e9 \u00e0 un risque accru de nombreuses maladies et d&rsquo;affections chroniques. Ces risques accrus comprennent un risque plus \u00e9lev\u00e9 de certains cancers (en particulier ceux qui sont li\u00e9s aux hormones, comme le <a href=\"https:\/\/www.psychologytoday.com\/us\/blog\/sleep-newzzz\/201911\/more-ways-poor-sleep-affects-cancer-risk\">cancer du sein<\/a>), de diab\u00e8te de type 2, de maladies cardiovasculaires et d&rsquo;ob\u00e9sit\u00e9. Le sommeil est \u00e9galement important pour la sant\u00e9 et le bon fonctionnement du syst\u00e8me immunitaire.<\/p>\n<h2>Une fonction immunitaire optimale li\u00e9e \u00e0 la qualit\u00e9 du sommeil<\/h2>\n<p>L&rsquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pmc\/articles\/PMC3256323\/\">importance du sommeil pour le fonctionnement du syst\u00e8me immunitaire<\/a> est fortement \u00e9tay\u00e9e par des ann\u00e9es de recherche clinique. Un sommeil de mauvaise qualit\u00e9 porte atteinte aux m\u00e9canismes m\u00eames du fonctionnement du syst\u00e8me immunitaire, r\u00e9duisant son efficacit\u00e9 et affaiblissant sa capacit\u00e9 \u00e0 fonctionner. Un sommeil de meilleure qualit\u00e9 contribue \u00e0 renforcer le syst\u00e8me immunitaire. Un syst\u00e8me immunitaire plus fort est mieux \u00e0 m\u00eame de combattre les agents pathog\u00e8nes, ce qui permet de r\u00e9duire la gravit\u00e9 d&rsquo;une maladie, voire de l&rsquo;\u00e9viter compl\u00e8tement.<\/p>\n<p>L&rsquo;am\u00e9lioration de la qualit\u00e9 du sommeil peut contribuer \u00e0 r\u00e9duire le risque de <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pmc\/articles\/PMC3002174\/\">d\u00e9pression et d&rsquo;anxi\u00e9t\u00e9<\/a>, qui sont tous deux li\u00e9s au fonctionnement du syst\u00e8me immunitaire.
