Dans le pass\u00e9, on a constat\u00e9 que le fait de dormir moins d&rsquo;heures de qualit\u00e9 augmentait le <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pmc\/articles\/PMC2845795\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">risque de maladie cardiaque<\/a>. La poursuite des recherches sur le sujet pourrait avoir permis de d\u00e9couvrir la raison de ce risque \u00e9lev\u00e9. Lorsque les gens ne se reposent pas suffisamment, les niveaux de l&rsquo;hormone hypocr\u00e9tine diminuent. Cette hormone est responsable de la promotion de l&rsquo;\u00e9veil, mais aussi de la production d&rsquo;une prot\u00e9ine appel\u00e9e CSF1.<\/p>\n<p>Lorsque les niveaux d&rsquo;hypocr\u00e9tine sont trop bas, le cerveau produit davantage de cette prot\u00e9ine, ce qui, \u00e0 son tour, augmente les niveaux d&rsquo;inflammation dans le corps. En particulier, les globules blancs de la moelle osseuse s&rsquo;enflamment, ce qui augmente le risque de d\u00e9velopper une ath\u00e9roscl\u00e9rose. L&rsquo;augmentation continue des niveaux de CSF1 entra\u00eene une propagation de l&rsquo;inflammation aux vaisseaux sanguins, ce qui augmente les risques d&rsquo;hypertension et de maladies cardiovasculaires. \u00c0 l&rsquo;inverse, un sommeil suffisant et de qualit\u00e9 aide le cerveau \u00e0 maintenir des niveaux optimaux d&rsquo;hypocr\u00e9tine, ce qui maintient les niveaux de CSF1 \u00e0 un niveau bas.<\/p>\n<p>Un sommeil de mauvaise qualit\u00e9 peut \u00e9galement augmenter le risque de <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pmc\/articles\/PMC2276127\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">d\u00e9velopper un diab\u00e8te de type 2<\/a>. Des recherches ont montr\u00e9 que le manque de sommeil inhibe la capacit\u00e9 de l&rsquo;organisme \u00e0 produire des niveaux suffisants d&rsquo;insuline, qui est l&rsquo;hormone utilis\u00e9e pour pousser le sucre, ou glucose, vers les cellules afin qu&rsquo;il soit consomm\u00e9. Si l&rsquo;organisme ne produit pas suffisamment d&rsquo;insuline, le sucre reste dans le sang.<\/p>\n<p>La surproduction de cortisol, une hormone du stress, aggrave le probl\u00e8me. Votre corps produit davantage de cortisol lorsque vous ne dormez pas suffisamment. En plus de produire d&rsquo;autres sympt\u00f4mes physiques li\u00e9s au stress, le cortisol r\u00e9duit \u00e9galement l&rsquo;efficacit\u00e9 de l&rsquo;insuline. Par cons\u00e9quent, l&rsquo;insuline produite par votre corps sera trop faible pour pousser le glucose vers vos cellules. Ces facteurs peuvent se conjuguer pour provoquer une accumulation de glucose dans le sang, ce qui accro\u00eet le risque de d\u00e9velopper un diab\u00e8te de type 2.<\/p>\n<h2>Une nouvelle \u00e9tude montre qu&rsquo;un sommeil de mauvaise qualit\u00e9 endommage l&rsquo;ADN<\/h2>\n<p>Une \u00e9quipe de chercheurs de Hong Kong a \u00e9tudi\u00e9 les <a href=\"http:\/\/www.herbs-info.com\/blog\/could-shift-work-damage-your-dna\/?c=d\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">effets du travail de nuit<\/a> sur 49 m\u00e9decins afin de d\u00e9terminer comment un sommeil de mauvaise qualit\u00e9 endommage l&rsquo;ADN. La moiti\u00e9 des m\u00e9decins \u00e9taient tenus de participer \u00e0 des gardes sur place dans le cadre de leurs rotations de travail. Une garde sur place est une garde qui commence en d\u00e9but d&rsquo;apr\u00e8s-midi et dure jusqu&rsquo;au lendemain matin. Dans ce groupe, la plupart des m\u00e9decins devaient effectuer cinq ou six gardes sur place par semaine.<br \/>\nLe deuxi\u00e8me groupe de l&rsquo;\u00e9tude \u00e9tait compos\u00e9 de m\u00e9decins qui n&rsquo;\u00e9taient pas tenus de participer \u00e0 des gardes sur place. Les sujets des deux groupes ont \u00e9t\u00e9 jug\u00e9s en bonne sant\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>Au d\u00e9but de l&rsquo;\u00e9tude, les m\u00e9decins des deux groupes ont eu droit \u00e0 trois nuits de sommeil de qualit\u00e9, sans interruption, afin que chacun commence l&rsquo;\u00e9tude avec un repos suffisant. Une prise de sang a \u00e9t\u00e9 effectu\u00e9e sur les sujets apr\u00e8s ces trois jours. Une fois que le premier groupe a d\u00fb travailler de nuit, une nouvelle prise de sang a \u00e9t\u00e9 effectu\u00e9e sur ces sujets.<\/p>\n<p>Les \u00e9chantillons de sang ont \u00e9t\u00e9 analys\u00e9s et compar\u00e9s afin de d\u00e9terminer les effets du manque de sommeil sur l&rsquo;ADN. Les chercheurs ont constat\u00e9 que les m\u00e9decins travaillant de nuit pr\u00e9sentaient un <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pubmed\/27307003\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">taux de dommages \u00e0 l&rsquo;ADN<\/a> sup\u00e9rieur de 30 %. D&rsquo;une part, cela peut expliquer l&rsquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.chronobiology.com\/new-research-supports-idea-that-a-disrupted-circadian-rhythm-is-linked-to-cancer\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">augmentation du taux de cancer<\/a> chez les personnes qui ne dorment pas suffisamment. La <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pubmed\/23294620\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">m\u00e9latonine<\/a> est l&rsquo;une de ces hormones, et sa fonction est de r\u00e9guler le sommeil, ce qui explique pourquoi elle est <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chronobiology.com\/pulsatile-release-melatonin-mimics-bodys-natural-melatonin-release\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">couramment utilis\u00e9e comme suppl\u00e9ment pour aider \u00e0 dormir<\/a>. La m\u00e9latonine a \u00e9galement une autre fonction : elle aide \u00e0 prot\u00e9ger l&rsquo;ADN contre les dommages. Elle peut m\u00eame contribuer \u00e0 r\u00e9duire les risques de croissance tumorale dans l&rsquo;organisme en prot\u00e9geant l&rsquo;ADN.<\/p>\n<p>En \u00e9tudiant le d\u00e9veloppement du cancer du sein et du cancer du c\u00f4lon, les chercheurs ont constat\u00e9 que la pr\u00e9sence de m\u00e9latonine augmentait la capacit\u00e9 de r\u00e9paration de l&rsquo;ADN. Cela indique que les <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pubmed\/19412858\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">dommages caus\u00e9s \u00e0 l&rsquo;ADN par le cancer<\/a> peuvent \u00eatre r\u00e9par\u00e9s en introduisant des niveaux plus \u00e9lev\u00e9s de m\u00e9latonine.
