R\u00e9pandue en Afrique, en Am\u00e9rique centrale et au Moyen-Orient, cette maladie commence par une piq\u00fbre de phl\u00e9botome. Les personnes et les animaux infect\u00e9s par ce parasite pr\u00e9sentent de grandes plaies ouvertes, de la fi\u00e8vre et une d\u00e9faillance des organes. La maladie s&rsquo;attaque aux cellules immunitaires et peut donc toucher m\u00eame des personnes en bonne sant\u00e9. La leishmaniose pr\u00e9sente un int\u00e9r\u00eat particulier car elle semble se r\u00e9pandre dans de nouvelles r\u00e9gions du globe. Des \u00e9pid\u00e9mies ont \u00e9t\u00e9 enregistr\u00e9es au Texas et dans le sud de l&rsquo;Europe, et la maladie semble remonter progressivement vers le nord. L&rsquo;Organisation mondiale de la sant\u00e9 estime qu&rsquo;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.who.int\/leishmaniasis\/burden\/magnitude\/burden_magnitude\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">environ 12 millions de personnes<\/a> sont actuellement infect\u00e9es dans le <a href=\"http:\/\/www.who.int\/leishmaniasis\/burden\/magnitude\/burden_magnitude\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">monde<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Pr\u00e9vention et traitement des maladies parasitaires<\/h2>\n<p>Plusieurs m\u00e9dicaments permettent de traiter la leishmaniose, mais la maladie n&rsquo;est souvent diagnostiqu\u00e9e qu&rsquo;apr\u00e8s avoir caus\u00e9 des dommages et des cicatrices permanents. Il n&rsquo;existe actuellement aucune immunisation contre les infections parasitaires, de sorte que la pr\u00e9vention de la transmission est l&rsquo;une des principales strat\u00e9gies pour r\u00e9duire leur impact. Tout d&rsquo;abord, la plupart des insectes qui transmettent ces infections sont <a href=\"http:\/\/neurosciencenews.com\/parasite-infection-time-7441\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">plus actifs \u00e0 certains moments de la journ\u00e9e<\/a>. Ces horloges internes inn\u00e9es sont r\u00e9gul\u00e9es par des g\u00e8nes circadiens qui contr\u00f4lent le m\u00e9tabolisme et l&rsquo;activit\u00e9 selon un cycle pr\u00e9visible de 24 heures. BMAL1 est un g\u00e8ne important dans la <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pmc\/articles\/PMC4090048\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">r\u00e9gulation du rythme circadien du syst\u00e8me immunitaire<\/a>, ainsi que des activit\u00e9s m\u00e9taboliques telles que le contr\u00f4le du glucose. Nos cellules immunitaires sont plus actives, circulent en plus grand nombre et sont \u00e9galement plus aptes \u00e0 combattre les infections \u00e0 certaines heures de la journ\u00e9e.<\/p>\n<p>Il en r\u00e9sulte que le choix du moment est d\u00e9terminant dans les infections.
