Environ la moiti\u00e9 des femmes \u00e2g\u00e9es et un quart des hommes \u00e2g\u00e9s souffriront d&rsquo;une fracture due \u00e0 cette maladie \u00e0 un moment ou \u00e0 un autre de leur vie. Bien qu&rsquo;il existe de nombreux traitements nouveaux et innovants pour cette maladie et son pr\u00e9curseur, l&rsquo;ost\u00e9op\u00e9nie, elle affecte n\u00e9anmoins la mobilit\u00e9 et la sant\u00e9 de millions de personnes chaque ann\u00e9e. De nouvelles recherches sugg\u00e8rent que cette maladie pourrait en fait \u00eatre li\u00e9e \u00e0 un manque de sommeil \u00e0 long terme.<\/p>\n<h2>Manque de sommeil et densit\u00e9 osseuse<\/h2>\n<p>Le manque de sommeil est-il fr\u00e9quent ? De nombreuses personnes en font l&rsquo;exp\u00e9rience pendant des mois lorsqu&rsquo;elles sont de nouveaux parents ; d&rsquo;autres perdent r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement le sommeil en raison de leurs \u00e9tudes ou de leur carri\u00e8re. Pour d&rsquo;autres encore, un trouble du rythme circadien est \u00e0 l&rsquo;origine d&rsquo;une longue s\u00e9rie de nuits blanches. Ce processus comprend une s\u00e9rie d&rsquo;\u00e9tapes qui lib\u00e8rent des marqueurs dans notre circulation sanguine, dont un appel\u00e9 P1NP. Des chercheurs ont mesur\u00e9 le P1NP dans le sang d&rsquo;hommes ayant dormi normalement et de ceux qui avaient \u00e9t\u00e9 priv\u00e9s de sommeil dans un laboratoire, n&rsquo;ayant eu droit qu&rsquo;\u00e0 quatre heures de sommeil par nuit. Les hommes moins bien repos\u00e9s pr\u00e9sentaient des taux beaucoup plus faibles, ce qui indique une formation osseuse moins importante. Cet effet \u00e9tait particuli\u00e8rement notable chez les jeunes hommes, qui pr\u00e9sentaient une <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencedaily.com\/releases\/2017\/04\/170402111317.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">diminution de 28 % de ce marqueur<\/a> et donc une solidit\u00e9 osseuse probable. En outre, les marqueurs de d\u00e9gradation osseuse sont rest\u00e9s tout aussi \u00e9lev\u00e9s, ce qui indique que les os se d\u00e9gradent sans que le processus de reconstruction ne soit enclench\u00e9. L&rsquo;absence de reconstruction osseuse au fil du temps entra\u00eene un affaiblissement des os, que nous appelons ost\u00e9op\u00e9nie, voire ost\u00e9oporose.<\/p>\n<h2>Qu&rsquo;est-ce que l&rsquo;ost\u00e9oporose ?<\/h2>\n<p>Ce n&rsquo;est pas la premi\u00e8re \u00e9tude \u00e0 \u00e9tablir un <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chronobiology.com\/constant-exposure-artificial-light-damaging-may-think\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">lien entre les troubles du sommeil et l&rsquo;ost\u00e9oporose<\/a>. Une \u00e9tude de 2016 a montr\u00e9 que des souris expos\u00e9es \u00e0 une lumi\u00e8re constante d\u00e9veloppaient des rythmes circadiens irr\u00e9guliers et, plus tard, de l&rsquo;ost\u00e9oporose. Il s&rsquo;agit toutefois de la premi\u00e8re \u00e9tude \u00e0 d\u00e9montrer un lien chez l&rsquo;homme. Pourquoi les chercheurs sont-ils si pr\u00e9occup\u00e9s par l&rsquo;augmentation des taux d&rsquo;ost\u00e9oporose ? Malgr\u00e9 les derni\u00e8res technologies m\u00e9dicales et la grande disponibilit\u00e9 d&rsquo;aliments riches en calcium, la pr\u00e9valence de cette maladie chez les personnes \u00e2g\u00e9es est \u00e9lev\u00e9e et continue d&rsquo;augmenter. Les co\u00fbts de cette maladie, tant financiers qu&rsquo;humains, sont \u00e9lev\u00e9s.<\/p>\n<p>Les personnes atteintes d&rsquo;ost\u00e9oporose ont les os plus poreux qu&rsquo;ils ne devraient l&rsquo;\u00eatre. Par cons\u00e9quent, leurs os ne sont pas aussi denses ou capables de r\u00e9sister aux d\u00e9fis de la vie quotidienne. Les personnes atteintes de cette maladie constatent que leurs os se brisent sous l&rsquo;effet d&rsquo;un tr\u00e8s faible stress, voire sans aucune raison. En fait, cette maladie est \u00e0 l&rsquo;origine d&rsquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nof.org\/patients\/what-is-osteoporosis\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">environ trois millions de fractures et de plus de 25 milliards de dollars de frais m\u00e9dicaux<\/a> chaque ann\u00e9e, rien qu&rsquo;aux \u00c9tats-Unis. Il existe plusieurs facteurs de risque connus, tels que l&rsquo;utilisation de certains m\u00e9dicaments et le diagnostic de certaines maladies. En outre, il semble que le fait d&rsquo;avoir un cycle de sommeil perturb\u00e9 soit \u00e9galement un facteur de risque.<\/p>\n<h2>Renforcer les os de mani\u00e8re naturelle<\/h2>\n<p>Si vous voulez \u00e9viter l&rsquo;ost\u00e9oporose, plusieurs changements de mode de vie peuvent faire une diff\u00e9rence significative dans la solidit\u00e9 et la densit\u00e9 de vos os. L&rsquo;\u00e9tude sugg\u00e8re de dormir suffisamment, mais vous pouvez aussi essayer de le faire :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Faire de l&rsquo;exercice r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement, en particulier des exercices de mise en charge<\/li>\n<li>\u00c9viter de fumer et d&rsquo;autres formes de tabagisme<\/li>\n<li>Adopter un r\u00e9gime alimentaire riche en calcium<\/li>\n<li>Consommer suffisamment de vitamine D, soit par l&rsquo;exposition au soleil, soit par la prise d&rsquo;un suppl\u00e9ment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Il est essentiel de conserver des os solides et sains pour mener une vie longue et saine. Cependant, cette nouvelle recherche en chronobiologie sugg\u00e8re qu&rsquo;il ne suffit pas de boire plus de lait pour y parvenir.
