De nouvelles recherches sugg\u00e8rent que la capacit\u00e9 \u00e0 supporter le travail de nuit pourrait \u00eatre g\u00e9n\u00e9tique.<\/p>\n<p>De nombreuses organisations de sant\u00e9, de l&rsquo;OMS au CDC, consid\u00e8rent que le travail en horaires d\u00e9cal\u00e9s constitue un risque grave pour la sant\u00e9, voire un agent canc\u00e9rig\u00e8ne. Les experts du travail estiment que <a href=\"https:\/\/consumer.healthday.com\/encyclopedia\/work-and-health-41\/occupational-health-news-507\/shift-workers-646677.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">3,2 % de la population active travaille de nuit et que 2,5 % travaille en alternance<\/a>. Un nombre encore plus important de personnes travaillent le soir, tr\u00e8s t\u00f4t le matin et d&rsquo;autres horaires irr\u00e9guliers, soit au total environ 15 % de la main-d&rsquo;\u0153uvre. Cela signifie qu&rsquo;environ six millions de personnes sont expos\u00e9es \u00e0 un risque accru de <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chronobiology.com\/new-research-cancer-genes-dictate-circadian-rhythm\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">cancer<\/a>, de diab\u00e8te et de maladies cardiaques. Toutefois, ces risques semblent toucher certaines personnes plus que d&rsquo;autres.<\/p>\n<h2>Les \u00e9preuves du travail post\u00e9<\/h2>\n<p>Le travail post\u00e9 peut \u00eatre difficile \u00e0 g\u00e9rer. Les personnes qui travaillent en horaires d\u00e9cal\u00e9s ne sont pas r\u00e9veill\u00e9es aux m\u00eames heures que les autres, ce qui peut les isoler socialement. Certaines personnes ont du mal \u00e0 dormir lorsqu&rsquo;il fait jour, ce qui entra\u00eene des insomnies et d&rsquo;autres troubles du sommeil. Le simple fait d&rsquo;aller chercher un litre de lait en rentrant chez soi peut \u00eatre un d\u00e9fi lorsque l&rsquo;on sort du travail \u00e0 2 heures du matin.<\/p>\n<p>Cependant, la logistique n&rsquo;est que le d\u00e9but des d\u00e9fis auxquels sont confront\u00e9s certains travailleurs post\u00e9s. Outre les risques graves pour la sant\u00e9, beaucoup font \u00e9tat d&rsquo;une fatigue et d&rsquo;un \u00e9puisement omnipr\u00e9sents et constants. Jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 pr\u00e9sent, on ne savait pas pourquoi certaines personnes s&rsquo;adaptaient rapidement aux horaires de nuit alors que d&rsquo;autres semblaient vivre dans l&rsquo;\u00e9puisement. En fin de compte, un seul g\u00e8ne pourrait faire toute la diff\u00e9rence pour les infirmi\u00e8res, les policiers et les autres travailleurs qui font tourner notre monde pendant que nous dormons.<\/p>\n<h2>Pourquoi certaines personnes supportent-elles mieux le travail de nuit que d&rsquo;autres ?<\/h2>\n<p>Les chercheurs ont fait <a href=\"https:\/\/www.helsinki.fi\/en\/news\/genetic-cause-for-shift-work-fatigue-discovered\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">passer un test g\u00e9n\u00e9tique \u00e0 des travailleurs de nuit finlandais et leur ont demand\u00e9 d&rsquo;\u00e9valuer leur fatigue de<\/a> fa\u00e7on continue. Ils ont ensuite recoup\u00e9 les tests g\u00e9n\u00e9tiques avec les sympt\u00f4mes. Les r\u00e9sultats sont int\u00e9ressants : les personnes qui supportent moins bien le travail de nuit pr\u00e9sentent une variante g\u00e9n\u00e9tique du g\u00e8ne du r\u00e9cepteur 1A de la m\u00e9latonine, appel\u00e9 MTNR1A.<\/p>\n<p>La variante g\u00e9n\u00e9tique qui rend les personnes moins aptes \u00e0 s&rsquo;adapter au travail de nuit est caus\u00e9e par la m\u00e9thylation de ce r\u00e9cepteur. La m\u00e9thylation de l&rsquo;ADN est n\u00e9cessaire \u00e0 la r\u00e9gulation \u00e9pig\u00e9n\u00e9tique des g\u00e8nes. Ceci est important car ce r\u00e9cepteur particulier est connu pour jouer un r\u00f4le important dans l&rsquo;ajustement de la production de m\u00e9latonine en fonction des exigences de l&rsquo;environnement. Il augmente la signalisation de la m\u00e9latonine en cas de besoin, mais davantage chez les personnes poss\u00e9dant une version saine du g\u00e8ne.
