Diverses variables ont \u00e9t\u00e9 suivies dans leur vie, notamment le moment et la fr\u00e9quence \u00e0 laquelle elles ont d\u00fb recourir \u00e0 des antid\u00e9presseurs. Les femmes qui utilisaient une contraception hormonale \u00e9taient <a href=\"http:\/\/archpsyc.jamanetwork.com\/article.aspx?articleid=2552796\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">plus susceptibles d&rsquo;avoir besoin d&rsquo;antid\u00e9presseurs<\/a> et plus susceptibles de les utiliser \u00e0 un \u00e2ge plus jeune.<\/p>\n<p>Cela signifie-t-il que les femmes sujettes \u00e0 la d\u00e9pression ne devraient pas utiliser de contraceptifs oraux ? En fait, les <a href=\"https:\/\/www.womenshealth.gov\/publications\/our-publications\/fact-sheet\/depression-pregnancy.html#b\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">femmes enceintes ou qui ont r\u00e9cemment accouch\u00e9 ont un risque de d\u00e9pression de 13 %<\/a>, m\u00eame si l&rsquo;on ne tient pas compte du \u00ab\u00a0baby blues\u00a0\u00bb, moins grave et plus passager, qui survient dans les jours et les semaines qui suivent la naissance.<\/p>\n<h2>Le probl\u00e8me de la d\u00e9pression chez les femmes<\/h2>\n<p>La d\u00e9pression est un probl\u00e8me majeur pour les femmes, et les chercheurs peinent \u00e0 en trouver une seule raison. Certaines mutations g\u00e9n\u00e9tiques li\u00e9es \u00e0 la d\u00e9pression n&rsquo;ont \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9couvertes que chez les femmes. Les hormones f\u00e9minines, qui sont en constante \u00e9volution, jouent probablement aussi un r\u00f4le. Les femmes ont tendance \u00e0 se consid\u00e9rer comme plus stress\u00e9es et sont plus susceptibles de vivre des \u00e9v\u00e9nements majeurs stressants. Les niveaux de m\u00e9latonine sont \u00e9troitement li\u00e9s aux niveaux de s\u00e9rotonine, l'\u00a0\u00bbhormone du bonheur\u00a0\u00bb qui est l&rsquo;objet de nombreux antid\u00e9presseurs. En fait, de nombreuses personnes ont constat\u00e9 que le simple fait de corriger leur rythme circadien pour dormir suffisamment la nuit permet de traiter efficacement la d\u00e9pression.
