Il s&rsquo;agit d&rsquo;un cycle qui se r\u00e9p\u00e8te \u00e0 l&rsquo;infini. Nos cycles veille-sommeil sont si importants qu&rsquo;ils sont r\u00e9gul\u00e9s par une horloge \u00e9troitement contr\u00f4l\u00e9e, le rythme circadien. De nouvelles recherches sugg\u00e8rent que le rythme circadien pourrait r\u00e9guler bien plus que nos cycles veille-sommeil.<\/p>\n<h2>Remont\u00e9e de l&rsquo;horloge interne<\/h2>\n<p>Comme toutes les horloges, les horloges internes doivent \u00eatre \u00ab\u00a0r\u00e9gl\u00e9es\u00a0\u00bb avant de pouvoir fonctionner efficacement. Le rythme circadien, qui est notre horloge interne de 24 heures, est r\u00e9gl\u00e9 par la pr\u00e9sence ou l&rsquo;absence de lumi\u00e8re. Nos yeux per\u00e7oivent la lumi\u00e8re et transmettent au cerveau des messages lui indiquant qu&rsquo;il est temps de se r\u00e9veiller et d&rsquo;\u00eatre alerte. En revanche, en l&rsquo;absence de lumi\u00e8re, notre corps produit de la <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chronobiology.com\/sleep-2\/melatonin\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">m\u00e9latonine<\/a>, une substance biochimique qui lui indique qu&rsquo;il est temps de se r\u00e9g\u00e9n\u00e9rer et de dormir.<\/p>\n<p>La d\u00e9tection de la lumi\u00e8re permet \u00e0 notre rythme circadien de fonctionner. Jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 r\u00e9cemment, les scientifiques pensaient que ses deux r\u00f4les principaux \u00e9taient de r\u00e9gir le <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chronobiology.com\/sleep-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">sommeil<\/a> et les habitudes alimentaires. Lorsque ce g\u00e8ne \u00e9tait perturb\u00e9 dans l&rsquo;ensemble du corps, les mouches se d\u00e9veloppaient normalement, mais avaient un comportement anormal et ne suivaient pas un cycle rythmique veille-sommeil. En revanche, lorsque le g\u00e8ne \u00e9tait perturb\u00e9 dans un seul tissu, les r\u00e9sultats \u00e9taient beaucoup plus d\u00e9sastreux. Les drosophiles ne se sont pas d\u00e9velopp\u00e9es du tout et sont mortes au d\u00e9but du stade larvaire. Kirst King-Jones, l&rsquo;un des coauteurs de l&rsquo;\u00e9tude, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9,<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u00ab\u00a0Cela nous a montr\u00e9 que l&rsquo;\u00e9puisement d&rsquo;une horloge alors que les autres fonctionnent encore est bien pire que l&rsquo;\u00e9puisement de toutes les horloges : les dommages sont moindres, mais plus importants.\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Comment le d\u00e9r\u00e8glement de l&rsquo;horloge d&rsquo;un seul tissu peut-il avoir un effet plus dramatique que le d\u00e9r\u00e8glement de l&rsquo;horloge de l&rsquo;ensemble de l&rsquo;organisme ? Les scientifiques n&rsquo;ont pas encore \u00e9lucid\u00e9 cette \u00e9nigme. Cependant, les r\u00e9sultats sont clairs : les rythmes circadiens affectent bien plus que le moment o\u00f9 nous dormons et nous r\u00e9veillons.<\/p>\n<h2>Rythme circadien et d\u00e9veloppement<\/h2>\n<p>Cette \u00e9tude montre clairement ce que les chercheurs soup\u00e7onnent depuis longtemps : Le rythme circadien affecte bien plus que la synchronisation et n&rsquo;est pas qu&rsquo;une simple horloge interne. En r\u00e9alit\u00e9, il existe <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chronobiology.com\/about-chronobiology\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">plusieurs types de rythmes diff\u00e9rents<\/a> dans notre corps, qui sont r\u00e9gul\u00e9s par et li\u00e9s \u00e0 presque tous les processus de l&rsquo;organisme. De la m\u00eame mani\u00e8re que les humains se pr\u00e9sentent au travail \u00e0 une heure pr\u00e9cise et mangent \u00e0 une autre, nos cellules sont pr\u00e9par\u00e9es \u00e0 effectuer certaines activit\u00e9s au moment optimal de la journ\u00e9e. \u00c0 en juger par ces nouvelles recherches, la croissance et le d\u00e9veloppement depuis le stade embryonnaire d\u00e9pendent de nos horloges internes.<\/p>\n<p>Les rythmes inn\u00e9s de notre corps s&rsquo;av\u00e8rent plus interconnect\u00e9s qu&rsquo;on ne le pensait. Nos syst\u00e8mes ne fonctionnent pas de mani\u00e8re isol\u00e9e, mais font partie d&rsquo;un tout et doivent \u00eatre trait\u00e9s comme tels.
