Certaines personnes souffrent d&rsquo;un syndrome appel\u00e9 \u00ab\u00a0trouble du sommeil de moins de 24 heures\u00a0\u00bb, souvent sans m\u00eame s&rsquo;en rendre compte.<\/p>\n<p>Environ un Am\u00e9ricain sur trois souffre d&rsquo;un trouble du sommeil et dans des pays comme l&rsquo;Allemagne et l&rsquo;Autriche, un sur quatre est concern\u00e9. Certains de ces troubles, comme le d\u00e9calage horaire social, sont dus \u00e0 une inad\u00e9quation entre le mode de vie et les besoins en sommeil. Cependant, certains troubles du sommeil sont dus \u00e0 un probl\u00e8me inn\u00e9 du rythme circadien. Le trouble du sommeil non-24 heures est l&rsquo;un de ces syndromes.<\/p>\n<h2>Le rythme circadien et le sommeil<\/h2>\n<p>Le rythme circadien fait r\u00e9f\u00e9rence au cycle inn\u00e9 lumi\u00e8re-obscurit\u00e9, qui r\u00e9git non seulement le sommeil et l&rsquo;\u00e9veil, mais aussi la r\u00e9paration cellulaire, le m\u00e9tabolisme et toute une s\u00e9rie de processus biochimiques. La plupart des gens ont un rythme circadien d&rsquo;environ 24,15 heures, ce qui correspond \u00e0 peu pr\u00e8s \u00e0 la dur\u00e9e de nos journ\u00e9es. Cela nous permet de dormir et de nous r\u00e9veiller en accord avec les cycles naturels de notre plan\u00e8te.<\/p>\n<p>Un rythme circadien qui n&rsquo;est pas de 24 heures est <a href=\"http:\/\/www.non-24.com\/about-non-24.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">plus qu&rsquo;un inconv\u00e9nient<\/a>. Les personnes dont le rythme circadien n&rsquo;est pas de 24 heures souffrent de toute une s\u00e9rie de probl\u00e8mes qui vont au-del\u00e0 de la simple incapacit\u00e9 \u00e0 dormir. Elles peuvent \u00eatre constamment fatigu\u00e9es, mais incapables de dormir le moment venu. Cela entra\u00eene une <a href=\"http:\/\/journal.frontiersin.org\/article\/10.3389\/fneur.2016.00017\/full\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">s\u00e9rie de sympt\u00f4mes<\/a> tels que des heures de sommeil irr\u00e9guli\u00e8res, des pens\u00e9es floues, la d\u00e9pression et des difficult\u00e9s d&rsquo;apprentissage. Ces personnes peuvent \u00e9galement avoir un <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chronobiology.com\/sleep-and-the-gical-memories\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">syst\u00e8me immunitaire moins r\u00e9actif<\/a> et \u00eatre plus sensibles aux maladies associ\u00e9es \u00e0 un manque de sommeil de qualit\u00e9, telles que les maladies cardiaques et le diab\u00e8te. Lorsque les r\u00e9tines de nos yeux per\u00e7oivent la lumi\u00e8re, elles envoient un message \u00e0 une \u00ab\u00a0horloge\u00a0\u00bb situ\u00e9e dans notre cerveau, le <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chronobiology.com\/unraveling-mysteries-biological-rhythms-suprachiasmatic-nucleus\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">noyau suprachiasmatique<\/a> de l&rsquo;hypothalamus. Cette petite partie du cerveau signale alors \u00e0 la glande pin\u00e9ale d&rsquo;arr\u00eater la production de m\u00e9latonine et d&rsquo;augmenter la lib\u00e9ration d&rsquo;hormones associ\u00e9es \u00e0 la vigilance. Lorsque nos yeux ne per\u00e7oivent pas la lumi\u00e8re, ce processus est compl\u00e8tement interrompu. Le cerveau et le corps n&rsquo;ont plus aucun moyen de se synchroniser avec le monde ext\u00e9rieur.<\/p>\n<p>Bien que ce trouble soit extr\u00eamement fr\u00e9quent chez les personnes atteintes de c\u00e9cit\u00e9 compl\u00e8te, il est souvent mal diagnostiqu\u00e9. Les personnes souffrant de ce trouble sont souvent consid\u00e9r\u00e9es comme souffrant de d\u00e9pression, de TDAH, de fibromyalgie et d&rsquo;autres maladies chroniques, car les effets d&rsquo;un mauvais sommeil imitent ces troubles.<\/p>\n<h2>Traitements du trouble du sommeil de moins de 24 heures<\/h2>\n<p>Bien qu&rsquo;il n&rsquo;existe pas de traitement curatif pour ce trouble, de nombreux traitements prometteurs ont \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9couverts par les chercheurs en chronobiologie. Les suppl\u00e9ments de <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chronobiology.com\/sleep-2\/melatonin\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">m\u00e9latonine <\/a>sont souvent utiles pour permettre aux personnes de dormir au bon moment. Si la personne n&rsquo;est pas compl\u00e8tement aveugle, la luminoth\u00e9rapie peut \u00e9galement l&rsquo;aider. En outre, un nouveau m\u00e9dicament appel\u00e9 Hetlioz, ou tasimelteon, s&rsquo;av\u00e8re prometteur. Ce m\u00e9dicament est un produit chimique qui imite la m\u00e9latonine et peut \u00eatre efficace pour traiter ce trouble du sommeil ainsi que le <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bizjournals.com\/washington\/news\/2016\/02\/16\/d-c-pharmas-drug-for-jet-lag-moves-closer-to.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">d\u00e9calage horaire<\/a>.
