Nous commen\u00e7ons \u00e0 ralentir, \u00e0 b\u00e2iller et \u00e0 chercher un endroit o\u00f9 nous reposer. Peu apr\u00e8s, nous nous endormons. Ce comportement est observ\u00e9 chez presque tous les animaux. Une nouvelle \u00e9tude sur les mouches des fruits pourrait enfin expliquer exactement quel processus c\u00e9r\u00e9bral sous-tend ce sentiment quasi universel.<\/p>\n<h2>Les drosophiles, les humains et la chronobiologie<\/h2>\n<p>De nombreuses d\u00e9couvertes concernant le g\u00e9nome humain et le cerveau humain commencent par des \u00e9tudes sur la drosophile. La drosophile est un organisme beaucoup plus simple que l&rsquo;homme et sa dur\u00e9e de g\u00e9n\u00e9ration est beaucoup plus courte, ce qui la rend facile \u00e0 \u00e9tudier. Les neurones semblaient avoir cet effet s\u00e9datif m\u00eame plusieurs heures apr\u00e8s avoir \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9teints. Les chercheurs pensent que ces neurones pourraient simplement \u00eatre le d\u00e9clencheur d&rsquo;un processus plus long de somnolence et d&rsquo;endormissement.<\/p>\n<p>Les chercheurs ont ensuite con\u00e7u des neurones R2 qui produisaient la toxine t\u00e9tanique lorsqu&rsquo;ils \u00e9taient activ\u00e9s, ce qui les emp\u00eachait de communiquer avec d&rsquo;autres neurones. R\u00e9sultat : les mouches priv\u00e9es de sommeil, qui <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chronobiology.com\/category\/sleep\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">dorment<\/a> normalement plus longtemps en raison de l&rsquo;\u00e9puisement, dormaient beaucoup moins. En d&rsquo;autres termes, les mouches \u00e0 fruits dorment davantage lorsque ces neurones peuvent communiquer avec d&rsquo;autres neurones du cerveau.<\/p>\n<h2>L&rsquo;insomnie : Appliquer la recherche aux probl\u00e8mes de la vie r\u00e9elle<\/h2>\n<p>D&rsquo;autres \u00e9tudes devront \u00eatre men\u00e9es avant de comprendre comment ces neurones fonctionnent et comment ils contribuent exactement \u00e0 notre perception de la somnolence. Toutefois, il s&rsquo;agit d&rsquo;une avanc\u00e9e consid\u00e9rable dans la recherche sur la biologie circadienne. De nombreuses personnes souffrant d&rsquo;insomnie sont tr\u00e8s fatigu\u00e9es mais n&rsquo;ont pas sommeil. Lorsque nous saurons exactement comment nous nous endormons, nous pourrons peut-\u00eatre concevoir des traitements qui aideront les insomniaques \u00e0 s&rsquo;endormir plus facilement et \u00e0 prendre le repos dont ils ont besoin.
