Depuis de nombreuses ann\u00e9es, les chercheurs \u00e9tudient le lien entre le manque de sommeil et la sant\u00e9 physique et mentale en g\u00e9n\u00e9ral. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.livescience.com\/4658-emotions-run-amok-sleep-deprived-brains.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Des \u00e9tudes ant\u00e9rieures<\/a> ont r\u00e9v\u00e9l\u00e9 que le manque de sommeil est li\u00e9 \u00e0 des d\u00e9ficiences du syst\u00e8me immunitaire et \u00e0 des processus c\u00e9r\u00e9braux tels que la m\u00e9moire et l&rsquo;apprentissage.<\/p>\n<p>\u00c0 l&rsquo;\u00e9poque, peu de recherches avaient \u00e9t\u00e9 men\u00e9es pour d\u00e9terminer pourquoi le manque de sommeil affectait les \u00e9motions ; l&rsquo;id\u00e9e \u00e9tait simplement une \u00e9vidence pour beaucoup d&rsquo;entre nous, car nous pouvions relier nos propres sentiments d&rsquo;agitation et de brouillard \u00e0 un <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chronobiology.com\/sleep-how-it-changes-over-your-lifespan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">sommeil insuffisant<\/a>.  Aujourd&rsquo;hui, une \u00e9tude r\u00e9cente fait \u00e9tat de r\u00e9sultats qui permettent de mieux cerner la mani\u00e8re dont le manque de sommeil affecte directement nos \u00e9motions.<\/p>\n<h2>Manque de sommeil et troubles \u00e9motionnels<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.chronobiology.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/lack-of-sleep-negatively-affects-emotions-2.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-7843\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-7843 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/www.chronobiology.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/lack-of-sleep-negatively-affects-emotions-2-300x171.jpg\" alt=\"Lack of Sleep Negatively Affects Emotions\" width=\"318\" height=\"181\" srcset=\"https:\/\/dev.chronobiology.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/lack-of-sleep-negatively-affects-emotions-2-300x171.jpg 300w, https:\/\/dev.chronobiology.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/lack-of-sleep-negatively-affects-emotions-2-768x437.jpg 768w, https:\/\/dev.chronobiology.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/lack-of-sleep-negatively-affects-emotions-2.jpg 1000w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 318px) 100vw, 318px\" \/><\/a>Dans une <a href=\"http:\/\/www.livescience.com\/4658-emotions-run-amok-sleep-deprived-brains.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u00e9tude r\u00e9alis\u00e9e en 2007<\/a>, des chercheurs ont pr\u00e9dit que les centres \u00e9motionnels du cerveau r\u00e9agiraient de mani\u00e8re excessive \u00e0 la suite d&rsquo;un manque de sommeil. Ils ont donc \u00e9valu\u00e9 la r\u00e9action \u00e9motionnelle du cerveau au manque de sommeil chez 26 volontaires en bonne sant\u00e9. Ils ont \u00e9t\u00e9 choqu\u00e9s par les r\u00e9sultats qui ont r\u00e9v\u00e9l\u00e9 que les participants \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9tude priv\u00e9s de sommeil \u00e9taient 60 % plus r\u00e9actifs aux stimuli \u00e9motionnels n\u00e9gatifs.<\/p>\n<p>Les chercheurs ont \u00e9tabli un lien entre cette r\u00e9action hyperactive et l&rsquo;arr\u00eat du lobe pr\u00e9frontal du cerveau, une r\u00e9gion du cerveau qui assure normalement le contr\u00f4le des \u00e9motions. Un chercheur a \u00e9mis l&rsquo;hypoth\u00e8se que cette r\u00e9action pourrait \u00eatre due \u00e0 l&rsquo;incapacit\u00e9 de cette structure \u00e0 faire face \u00e0 certains extr\u00eames biologiques, \u00e9tant donn\u00e9 qu&rsquo;elle est relativement nouvelle dans l&rsquo;\u00e9volution humaine. Aujourd&rsquo;hui, des chercheurs ont tent\u00e9 d&rsquo;expliquer davantage cette corr\u00e9lation.<\/p>\n<h2>Identification d&rsquo;un m\u00e9canisme de d\u00e9clenchement des troubles \u00e9motionnels<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.medicalnewstoday.com\/releases\/303792.php?tw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Une \u00e9tude<\/a> men\u00e9e par l&rsquo;universit\u00e9 de Tel-Aviv a permis d&rsquo;identifier le m\u00e9canisme responsable du d\u00e9clenchement de la d\u00e9ficience \u00e9motionnelle due au manque de sommeil. Talma Hendler, professeur \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9cole de neurosciences TAU Sagol, a dirig\u00e9 cette \u00e9tude, men\u00e9e par Eti Ben-Simon, \u00e9tudiant dipl\u00f4m\u00e9 du Centre des fonctions c\u00e9r\u00e9brales au Centre m\u00e9dical Sourasky de Tel-Aviv. Le professeur Hendler est \u00e9galement affili\u00e9e \u00e0 la facult\u00e9 de m\u00e9decine Sackler et \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9cole des sciences psychologiques. Cette \u00e9tude a r\u00e9cemment \u00e9t\u00e9 publi\u00e9e dans le <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jneurosci.org\/content\/35\/38\/13194.abstract?sid=4ab9b29a-12ce-406b-a5f1-b88cf21b8bd6\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Journal of Neuroscience<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>L&rsquo;\u00e9tude a impliqu\u00e9 la participation de 18 adultes qui ont subi une cartographie du cerveau au moyen d&rsquo;un EEG et\/ou d&rsquo;une IRM tout en passant deux s\u00e9ries de tests. La premi\u00e8re s\u00e9rie de tests a \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9alis\u00e9e apr\u00e8s une nuit de sommeil r\u00e9parateur, suivie de la deuxi\u00e8me s\u00e9rie apr\u00e8s une nuit de <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chronobiology.com\/sleep-timing-vs-sleep-length-which-matters-more\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">sommeil insuffisant<\/a>. Dans le cadre de l&rsquo;un des tests, les participants devaient analyser la direction dans laquelle de petits points jaunes se d\u00e9pla\u00e7aient sur diverses images. Ces images \u00e9taient class\u00e9es comme neutres (une cuill\u00e8re), n\u00e9gativement \u00e9motionnelles (un corps mutil\u00e9) ou positivement \u00e9motionnelles (un chat).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.chronobiology.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/lack-of-sleep-negatively-affects-emotions-3.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-7844\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-7844 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/www.chronobiology.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/lack-of-sleep-negatively-affects-emotions-3-200x300.jpg\" alt=\"Lack of Sleep Negatively Affects Emotions 1\" width=\"200\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/dev.chronobiology.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/lack-of-sleep-negatively-affects-emotions-3-200x300.jpg 200w, https:\/\/dev.chronobiology.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/lack-of-sleep-negatively-affects-emotions-3.jpg 667w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/><\/a>Les r\u00e9sultats des tests ont r\u00e9v\u00e9l\u00e9 que lorsque les participants b\u00e9n\u00e9ficiaient d&rsquo;un repos suffisant, ils \u00e9taient capables d&rsquo;identifier la direction des points sur des images neutres avec plus de pr\u00e9cision et de rapidit\u00e9. Les r\u00e9ponses neurologiques qui diff\u00e8rent selon qu&rsquo;il s&rsquo;agit d&rsquo;images neutres ou d&rsquo;images \u00e9motionnelles distrayantes \u00e9taient \u00e9videntes sur leur EEG. Cependant, lorsqu&rsquo;ils ont pass\u00e9 le m\u00eame test alors qu&rsquo;ils manquaient de sommeil, les participants ont obtenu de mauvais r\u00e9sultats dans l&rsquo;analyse des images neutres et \u00e9motionnelles. En outre, les r\u00e9ponses c\u00e9r\u00e9brales mesur\u00e9es par EEG ne refl\u00e9taient pas les r\u00e9actions tr\u00e8s diff\u00e9rentes aux images \u00e9motionnelles. Selon les chercheurs, cela indique une diminution du traitement r\u00e9gulateur. Selon Ben-Simon, il est probable que le manque de sommeil provoque une r\u00e9action \u00e9motionnelle m\u00eame face \u00e0 des images neutres.<\/p>\n<p>Le second test a \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9alis\u00e9 alors que les participants se trouvaient dans un scanner IRMf pour permettre de mesurer les niveaux d&rsquo;activit\u00e9 dans diff\u00e9rentes parties du cerveau pendant l&rsquo;ex\u00e9cution de la t\u00e2che cognitive. Les participants ont \u00e9t\u00e9 invit\u00e9s \u00e0 effectuer une t\u00e2che qui exigeait leur attention et \u00e0 ignorer les images d&rsquo;arri\u00e8re-plan \u00e9motionnelles ou neutres qui les distrayaient.<\/p>\n<p>Les r\u00e9sultats ont montr\u00e9 que les participants n&rsquo;\u00e9taient distraits par les images \u00e9motionnelles qu&rsquo;apr\u00e8s une nuit de repos ad\u00e9quat et que le manque de sommeil pendant une nuit les distrayait \u00e0 la fois par les images neutres et \u00e9motionnelles. Cette modification de la r\u00e9ponse \u00e9motionnelle a \u00e9t\u00e9 confirm\u00e9e au cours de l&rsquo;IRMf par des changements d&rsquo;activit\u00e9 dans l&rsquo;amygdale, un n\u0153ud limbique responsable du traitement des \u00e9motions dans le cerveau.<\/p>\n<h2>Un sommeil ad\u00e9quat est n\u00e9cessaire \u00e0 la r\u00e9gulation des \u00e9motions<\/h2>\n<p>Les r\u00e9sultats de cette \u00e9tude r\u00e9v\u00e8lent que m\u00eame en cas de manque de sommeil pendant une nuit, la capacit\u00e9 du cerveau \u00e0 diff\u00e9rencier les \u00e9v\u00e9nements \u00e9motionnels des \u00e9v\u00e9nements neutres est perturb\u00e9e.
