Cependant, une nouvelle \u00e9tude en <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chronobiology.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">chronobiologie<\/a> a choqu\u00e9 les chercheurs en sugg\u00e9rant que la privation de sommeil pourrait en fait am\u00e9liorer la m\u00e9moire \u00e0 long terme. Cet effet contre-intuitif est d\u00fb aux effets d&rsquo;une mol\u00e9cule appel\u00e9e IGF-2, qui est produite en cas de perturbation du rythme circadien.<\/p>\n<h2>L&rsquo;IGF-2 et la m\u00e9moire<\/h2>\n<p>L&rsquo;IGF-2, abr\u00e9viation de \u00ab\u00a0insulin-like growth factor 2\u00a0\u00bb, est une mol\u00e9cule qui ressemble \u00e0 l&rsquo;insuline et qui <a href=\"http:\/\/ghr.nlm.nih.gov\/gene\/IGF2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a divers effets sur les cellules<\/a>. Elle stimule la croissance et la prolif\u00e9ration des cellules, ce qui explique qu&rsquo;elle soit particuli\u00e8rement active chez les f\u0153tus. La production de cette substance biochimique diminue fortement \u00e0 la naissance, puis lentement mais r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement au cours de la vie.<\/p>\n<p>Des \u00e9tudes r\u00e9centes ont montr\u00e9 que l&rsquo;IGF-2 n&rsquo;est pas seulement un facteur de croissance et de d\u00e9veloppement, mais qu&rsquo;il est particuli\u00e8rement important pour la m\u00e9moire. Des rats auxquels on a inject\u00e9 de l&rsquo;IGF-2 dans l&rsquo;hippocampe du cerveau, une zone associ\u00e9e \u00e0 la m\u00e9moire, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.livescience.com\/11643-hormone-holds-promise-memory-enhancer.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">se souviennent mieux de leurs souvenirs \u00e0 long terme<\/a>. L&rsquo;IGF-2 est actuellement test\u00e9 comme traitement possible de la maladie d&rsquo;Alzheimer, de la maladie de Parkinson et d&rsquo;autres maladies entra\u00eenant une perte de m\u00e9moire.<\/p>\n<h2>Les effets de la privation de sommeil sur l&rsquo;IGF-2<\/h2>\n<p>Le<a href=\"https:\/\/www.chronobiology.com\/chronobiology-reveals-telling-link-between-sleep-times-and-memory\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">sommeil est important pour la formation et la consolidation de la m\u00e9moire<\/a>. Au cours de la premi\u00e8re phase du sommeil, l&rsquo;hippocampe et le cortex pr\u00e9frontal du cerveau s&rsquo;activent. Ces r\u00e9gions choisissent les informations \u00e0 stocker et celles \u00e0 rejeter, une t\u00e2che qui inclut le d\u00e9placement de certaines informations de la m\u00e9moire \u00e0 court terme vers la m\u00e9moire \u00e0 long terme.<\/p>\n<p>Dans une <a href=\"http:\/\/neurosciencenews.com\/sleep-wake-cycle-memory-2343\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u00e9tude r\u00e9cente<\/a>, des souris soumises de mani\u00e8re chronique \u00e0 des cycles sommeil-\u00e9veil irr\u00e9guliers ont montr\u00e9 une augmentation de la production d&rsquo;IGF-2, probablement pour prot\u00e9ger les cellules contre les effets n\u00e9fastes du manque de sommeil. Cette augmentation de l&rsquo;IGF-2 a eu un effet surprenant : Ces souris avaient une meilleure m\u00e9moire \u00e0 long terme, observ\u00e9e presque imm\u00e9diatement. Cela va \u00e0 l&rsquo;encontre de ce que les chercheurs en biologie circadienne pensaient auparavant des effets de la perte de sommeil sur la m\u00e9moire.<\/p>\n<p>Lorsque les chercheurs ont donn\u00e9 \u00e0 des souris de l&rsquo;IGF-2 suppl\u00e9mentaire sans cycles de sommeil irr\u00e9guliers, la m\u00eame augmentation de la m\u00e9moire a \u00e9t\u00e9 observ\u00e9e. Les souris soumises \u00e0 un sommeil irr\u00e9gulier sur le long terme pr\u00e9sentaient une d\u00e9g\u00e9n\u00e9rescence c\u00e9r\u00e9brale et une perte globale de m\u00e9moire \u00e0 long terme, peut-\u00eatre en raison des effets de la perturbation du <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chronobiology.com\/about-chronobiology\/#CircadianRhythm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">rythme circadien<\/a>, c&rsquo;est-\u00e0-dire de l&rsquo;horloge interne de 24 heures. Si la privation de sommeil peut am\u00e9liorer la m\u00e9moire \u00e0 long terme \u00e0 court terme, elle aura un effet n\u00e9faste \u00e0 long terme sur la m\u00e9moire et d&rsquo;autres fonctions cognitives.
