Descubrieron que los niveles de WC1 y 2 disminu\u00edan gradualmente hasta aproximadamente el 15% y el 20% de los niveles originales previos a la inanici\u00f3n, respectivamente, mientras que los niveles de FRQ permanec\u00edan iguales pero se alteraban por la adici\u00f3n de muchos grupos fosfato (un proceso conocido como hiperfosforilaci\u00f3n referida). Normalmente, la hiperfosforilaci\u00f3n impide que la FRQ inhiba la actividad del CMI, por lo que los autores especularon que la mayor actividad podr\u00eda acelerar la degradaci\u00f3n del CMI.
