Por ejemplo, este algoritmo detect\u00f3 que el gen que codifica el transportador celular de glucosa GLUT2 es extremadamente activo en algunos momentos del d\u00eda, pero casi silencioso durante otros. Esto es importante porque un f\u00e1rmaco com\u00fan utilizado para el c\u00e1ncer de p\u00e1ncreas, la estreptozocina, puede tener efectos mortales cuando se une a este transportador. La administraci\u00f3n de estreptozocina en los momentos del d\u00eda en que es menos probable que interact\u00fae con GLUT2 reducir\u00e1 probablemente las elevadas tasas de mortalidad de este c\u00e1ncer mortal.
