Las investigaciones sobre el estr\u00e9s y el ritmo circadiano muestran por qu\u00e9 la ansiedad provoca noches de insomnio.<\/p>\n<p>Si cree que su vida es demasiado estresante, no est\u00e1 solo. La Asociaci\u00f3n Americana de Psicolog\u00eda ha advertido de que la <a href=\"https:\/\/www.apa.org\/news\/press\/releases\/stress\/2011\/final-2011.pdf\">gente vive con m\u00e1s estr\u00e9s que nunca<\/a> y sufre por ello da\u00f1os f\u00edsicos y emocionales extremos. El estr\u00e9s no s\u00f3lo le pone en riesgo de sufrir enfermedades a largo plazo, sino que tambi\u00e9n puede interferir en su ritmo circadiano y dejarle exhausto a diario.<\/p>\n<h2>Fisiolog\u00eda del estr\u00e9s<\/h2>\n<p>La sensaci\u00f3n de estr\u00e9s es familiar para muchos de nosotros. Los ojos se dilatan para permitirle ser m\u00e1s consciente de lo que le rodea. Los latidos de su coraz\u00f3n aumentan y se hacen m\u00e1s fuertes, d\u00e1ndole quiz\u00e1s la sensaci\u00f3n de que le laten con fuerza en las sienes. La piel puede enrojecer e incluso sudar. Puede sentirse tembloroso o mareado al desviarse el riego sangu\u00edneo hacia los m\u00fasculos. Esta respuesta est\u00e1 provocada por diversos factores, entre los que el sistema nervioso simp\u00e1tico y el cortisol desempe\u00f1an un papel fundamental. Cuando las personas est\u00e1n constantemente estresadas y producen altos niveles de cortisol a lo largo del d\u00eda, este bucle de retroalimentaci\u00f3n negativa puede romperse. Las personas tambi\u00e9n liberan esta hormona <a href=\"http:\/\/link.springer.com\/chapter\/10.1007%2F978-3-642-22272-6_7#page-1\">cuando est\u00e1n sometidas a estr\u00e9s fisiol\u00f3gico<\/a>, como cuando se encuentran a gran altitud, expuestas a temperaturas extremas o cr\u00f3nicamente enfermas. Los estudios en cronobiolog\u00eda han descubierto que incluso las personas que van al espacio experimentan este estr\u00e9s y la desregulaci\u00f3n circadiana resultante.
