Algunas personas padecen un s\u00edndrome llamado trastorno del sue\u00f1o no 24 horas, muchas de ellas sin darse cuenta.<\/p>\n<p>Alrededor de uno de cada tres estadounidenses padece un trastorno del sue\u00f1o y en pa\u00edses como Alemania y Austria, uno de cada cuatro est\u00e1 afectado. Algunos de ellos, como el jet lag social, se deben a un desajuste entre el estilo de vida y las necesidades de sue\u00f1o. Sin embargo, algunos trastornos del sue\u00f1o est\u00e1n causados por un problema innato del ritmo circadiano. El trastorno del sue\u00f1o no 24 horas es uno de estos s\u00edndromes.<\/p>\n<h2>El ritmo circadiano y el sue\u00f1o<\/h2>\n<p>El ritmo circadiano se refiere al ciclo innato de luz y oscuridad que rige no s\u00f3lo el sue\u00f1o y la vigilia, sino tambi\u00e9n la reparaci\u00f3n celular, el metabolismo y diversos procesos bioqu\u00edmicos. La mayor\u00eda de las personas tiene un ritmo circadiano de unas 24,15 horas, que coincide aproximadamente con la duraci\u00f3n de nuestros d\u00edas. Esto nos permite dormir y despertar en sinton\u00eda con los ciclos naturales de nuestro planeta.<\/p>\n<p>Tener un ritmo circadiano que no sea de 24 horas es <a href=\"http:\/\/www.non-24.com\/about-non-24.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">m\u00e1s que un inconveniente<\/a>. Las personas con un ritmo circadiano que no es de 24 horas sufren una serie de problemas que van m\u00e1s all\u00e1 de la simple incapacidad para dormir. Pueden estar cansados constantemente, pero ser incapaces de dormir cuando llega la hora.
