La hipertensi\u00f3n puede causar problemas circulatorios, mientras que la diabetes aumenta el riesgo de aterosclerosis o endurecimiento de las arterias.<\/p>\n<p>Es importante abordar las distintas enfermedades que intervienen en el s\u00edndrome metab\u00f3lico como un conjunto, trabajando por la salud de todo el cuerpo. Aunque la hora del d\u00eda no afectaba a la eficacia de la medicaci\u00f3n para reducir la tensi\u00f3n arterial, s\u00ed parec\u00eda afectar al riesgo de diabetes. Las personas que tomaban su medicaci\u00f3n antihipertensiva por la noche ten\u00edan muchas menos probabilidades de desarrollar diabetes de tipo 2.<\/p>\n<h2>El momento de tomar la medicaci\u00f3n antihipertensiva<\/h2>\n<p>La mayor\u00eda de los m\u00e9dicos recomiendan que los pacientes tomen la medicaci\u00f3n para la tensi\u00f3n arterial por la ma\u00f1ana. Dado que las hormonas asociadas a la vigilia, como el cortisol, elevan la tensi\u00f3n arterial, la hipertensi\u00f3n tiende a ser m\u00e1s grave por la ma\u00f1ana.
