La melatonina no s\u00f3lo inhibe el crecimiento del c\u00e1ncer, sino que los estudios sugieren que tambi\u00e9n aumenta la producci\u00f3n de estr\u00f3genos al tiempo que limita su receptividad. Comprender los mecanismos por los que esas hormonas se desequilibran es imprescindible para cualquier programa de prevenci\u00f3n, y esta nueva informaci\u00f3n puede proporcionar a las mujeres consejos pr\u00e1cticos. Si las mujeres se ci\u00f1en a los horarios normales de luz diurna y evitan las profesiones que requieren pasar largas horas bajo luces artificiales mientras el cuerpo pide a gritos dormir, pueden tener muchas m\u00e1s posibilidades de evitar el c\u00e1ncer de mama.<\/p>\n<h2>C\u00f3mo sabemos que la luz artificial es la culpable<\/h2>\n<p>Una prueba de que la luz artificial es culpable de introducir el desequilibrio circadiano es que <a href=\"http:\/\/jnci.oxfordjournals.org\/content\/92\/9\/686.full\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">las mujeres ciegas tienen una marcada ventaja<\/a> a la hora de evitar el c\u00e1ncer de mama.
