<\/a>Los investigadores han hecho grandes avances en el estudio de la biolog\u00eda humana mediante experimentos de laboratorio que, por lo general, utilizaban sujetos no humanos. La investigaci\u00f3n de campo es otro medio de estudiar los organismos. Se ha utilizado para conocer el comportamiento, la gen\u00e9tica y la fisiolog\u00eda de animales y plantas.<\/p>\nCuestionarios en distintos idiomas<\/span><\/h2>\ntheWeP lleva a cabo una forma de investigaci\u00f3n de campo ayudando a los investigadores a difundir encuestas o cuestionarios relativos a un comportamiento espec\u00edfico, como dormir<\/a>. Los estudios anteriores sobre el comportamiento humano se han visto obstaculizados por su tama\u00f1o relativamente peque\u00f1o. Un problema a\u00fan mayor es que los estudios han tendido a limitarse a una regi\u00f3n o pa\u00eds. Aunque en un estudio participaran cientos de miles de estadounidenses, chinos o keniatas, los resultados s\u00f3lo podr\u00edan aplicarse a las personas de esos pa\u00edses. Podr\u00edan no ser aplicables a australianos o sirios.<\/p>\ntheWeP publica cuestionarios en su sitio web en hasta seis idiomas: ingl\u00e9s, franc\u00e9s, alem\u00e1n, neerland\u00e9s, espa\u00f1ol y portugu\u00e9s de Brasil. Los participantes recibir\u00e1n por correo electr\u00f3nico los resultados, que les dir\u00e1n c\u00f3mo se comparan con los de otros participantes. A menudo se observa que las personas duermen menos a medida que envejecen. \u00bfPor qu\u00e9 y c\u00f3mo puede afectar a la salud? \u00bfInfluye el lugar de residencia? S\u00f3lo estudios a gran escala como los que puede realizar elWeP pueden responder a estas preguntas.<\/p>\n
Estudio del cronotipo<\/span><\/h2>\nEl estudio de mayor envergadura que ha llevado a cabo elWeP es el Estudio del Cronotipo. En este proyecto colaboran con el Centro de Cronobiolog\u00eda del Instituto de Psicolog\u00eda M\u00e9dica de M\u00fanich. El estudio de cronotipos ha recibido hasta ahora m\u00e1s de 50.000 respuestas. \u00abCrono\u00bb viene de la palabra griega para \u00abtiempo\u00bb, por lo que el cronotipo de una persona se basa en su reloj biol\u00f3gico o ritmo circadiano<\/a>. Los participantes en el estudio realizan una breve encuesta en la que responden a preguntas sobre cu\u00e1ndo se acuestan, cu\u00e1ndo se levantan, cu\u00e1nto tardan en dormirse y si hay diferencias entre el horario de los d\u00edas laborables y el de los fines de semana. Tambi\u00e9n facilitan informaci\u00f3n sobre su lugar de residencia, para que los investigadores puedan buscar diferencias regionales.<\/p>\nLos resultados se env\u00edan por correo electr\u00f3nico al encuestado en el plazo de un d\u00eda. Incluyen un gr\u00e1fico de barras con siete grupos de cronotipos, desde los m\u00e1s madrugadores hasta los m\u00e1s tard\u00edos. El encuestado medio se acuesta a las 12.15 y se levanta a las 8.15. El gr\u00e1fico de barras muestra una curva de campana bastante est\u00e1ndar, con los participantes medios formando la campana y los extremadamente madrugadores y los extremadamente tard\u00edos formando las colas a ambos lados. Este estudio, por cierto, se centra menos en la duraci\u00f3n del sue\u00f1o que en los horarios.<\/p>\n

Estudio del cronotipo<\/span><\/h2>\nEl estudio de mayor envergadura que ha llevado a cabo elWeP es el Estudio del Cronotipo. En este proyecto colaboran con el Centro de Cronobiolog\u00eda del Instituto de Psicolog\u00eda M\u00e9dica de M\u00fanich. El estudio de cronotipos ha recibido hasta ahora m\u00e1s de 50.000 respuestas. \u00abCrono\u00bb viene de la palabra griega para \u00abtiempo\u00bb, por lo que el cronotipo de una persona se basa en su reloj biol\u00f3gico o ritmo circadiano<\/a>.
